Lots of people suggest a high protein, high fat, low carb diet for bodybuilders, but is such a diet suitable for people who are very active in sports training and not just bodybuilding?
The
Anabolic Diet has many benefits as a high fat/high protein/low carb diet.
For bodybuilders/strongman/powerlifters/weighlifters it's one of the better diets.
If I'm not mistaken, you're into MMA. If you'd switch to the Anabolic Diet, you'll probably have problems at the end of the week, when glycogen stores starts to empty.
Low carb diets, that do not include a carb up at a certain point (cfr Atkins), are no good for people who do sports (and unhealthy in general). You need a carb up. The anabolic diet does that. Carbs cycling diets, work in the same way.
Training needs glycogen. The higher the volume, the faster glycogen stores gets depleted.
