Low BF, Still no abs

Alright, how exactly do you get a sixpack that looks really good without you flexing your stomach?

I don't weightlift but I run a LOT. I'm at 8% bf and only have "perfect" ab muscles in the morning when there's no food in my belly and when I flex.

Maybe dropping body fat isn't enough, weight training?

Short twitch and long twitch muscles. The guys who are permanently ripped and have blood flowing to every part of their body just to prevent decay are the idols of your question.

Of course their is TOO much, 8% is excellent bf level, don't try to go below, fat IS healthy for you(hehe brown cells).

Just look at some girls, 2% body fat, they are IN10SE, but they don't look MUSCULAR. MUSCULAR is sexy only when it's on a man, want to know what a female bodybuilder looks like? Heh, you probably already know.

Well to get your six pack, you have to build muscle. There is no way your going to have one without it.

Everyone has abs, its just a matter of how much body fat you have that determines wheather your abs show or not.

So basically the steps to get abs is to have a low body fat %. But just like any other muscle you have to work it out to get it bigger and stronger. So basically thisis where all the ab excerises come in. They will help your abs get stronger and bigger, but they won't determine wheather it shows or not. That's determined by your bf%.

So no situps aren't the answer to get them to show. Cardio is... Running, Biking, Trendmill. 45 Min of intense cardio 2 to 3 times a week and the right diet and you'll have your abs apperaing in no time. Then you should do the right excerises to get it stronger and bigger.

Thing is, my abs do show, even when I'm not flexing and it's not early in the morning before I eat anything. They just don't show the way I'd like them to.

I guess I see two ways out, drop bf levels even more (1. not sure I could 2. not very healthy) or put on more muscle so there's more muscle to come through.

heres another ab question, i hear that the six pack is one muscle pretty much, but what about the side abs. Basically my question is, should i stick to crunches or is there a real reason to do those other side excercises?
