Hi guys,

Im new to this. But my problem is I am overweight.
Does anybody have any goods on how to lose weight quick and in a good way?

I tried to read the sticky thread "Cutting Up". But that was like reading a different language. :(

So any good guidelines ?

Thanks in advance

'Losing fat', 'quick' and 'good way' in the same sentence don't compute.

Losing fat is a slow, steady process which requires patience and consistency if it's to be done properly.

Search this board, there's lots of similar threads with answers in plain english..

It's really hard to just START losing weight, kick the habits, and become a cardio machine... I still haven't yet, but I've tried unsuccessfully :-\

I read something inspiring, and think "wow I'm gonna start this today!"

Later that night: "I'd like to place an order for delivery... pineapple, pepperoni, extra sauce..."

It's hard to start just like any other major journy such as building a robot to do battle with other robots (hey i was 10  )

Well.. that's up to you. Once you've made the decision to be dedicated and consistent, you'll get where you want to be, but not before.

Eat wholesome foods, foods that boost your metabolism. Don't drink many liquids. Milk tastes great but it sure doesnt boost metabolism.

Talking about metabolism, get in touch with your body, know what it feels like when your metabolism is high and when it's low. If it's high you can burn fat. If it's low an you keep pushing yourself you will overtrain or loose muscle. This one is important! To boost your metabolism ZIG-ZAG your calories. Like 2000 3 days, 3000 1 day... etc.

Start doing some cardio. See how much you can take. 3 times 30 minutes a week?

Start weightlifting, or you'll end up skinny fat, not good! Also muscle burns a lot of energie, much more than some fat weight alone.

Lastly, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. If you try some super duper special diet from the internet, but you feel like total sh1it, that is your body telling you that the diet sucks @ss! Listen to your body first, second to some fatloss guru, and third some special internet diet. Not the other way around! Negative bodily feelings evolved over billions of years to help survive and thrive, don't ignore them!

Well that's some basics, good luck man.
Cool thanks, but I read previously on this board you should keep at 1600 calories per week or around that ?

You need to start weight training. The only way to transform your body is through the use of weights. Added lean mass will increase your metabolism. Try to stick with compound exercises with high reps and low down time in between sets in order to maximize calories burned during your workouts. Try full body workouts at first. You're gonna want to start doing cardio in order to create the calorie deficit you need to lose weight. Try to go at a consistent pace that you can go for about 30 min without stopping. After building your endurance you can experiment with various cardio techniques, HIIT, etc. In addition, clean up your diet. Don't eat **** and try to eat more protein since its harder to digest and is used cleaner than other food sources within your body. Stop drinking any liquid with calories as its just empty calories you don't need. Stick to water and protein shakes. Eat small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism fast. This is a very slow process and temptation will be strong in the beginning. Try to get one thing down at a time and remain consistent. Although my diet has been less than perfect lately, I have resisted high calorie beverages and fast food craving so I'm better off than I was before I started caring about eating right. Also, the most important thing about fatloss is to not focus on your weight as much as how you look in the mirror. The scale fluctuates daily, but the mirror shows exactly how you are.

You need to start at your Daily Caloric Intake and reduce your calories by about 200 a week...if you suddenly drop to 1600 calories, it will shock your system, you won't lose as much fat, you're metabolism will slow, and you'll feel like sh1t.

Use this to find out what your DCI is.

Drop 200 from that a week until you get to 1600, then maintain until you get to your desired body fat. Keep doing cardio or HIIT and keep lifting. Drink as much water as you can, and keep taking protein and creatine to keep muscle loss to a minimum.

Just remember, don't rush the calorie deficit unless you want to lose some major muscle.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.
