Hey all,
Well, I'm thinking it's about time that I get my body in order -- I'm sitting at 6 foot and 350 pounds. It's not quite as bad as you might think, I have a super broad and dense structure, and in highschool, at 250 pounds I had a very reasonable body-fat percentage, and looked totally normal.
I've grown since then, so my goal is to lose 90 pounds of fat, and put on 20 pounds of muscle. Of course, I know that the most important thing is specific, clear, goals on a certain time limit. But I have no idea what's a reasonable amount of time to expect to lose that much weight. Can anyone give me any kind of estimate? I just don't want to be way way off or anything.
Next, I don't really know where to start concerning diet and a workout plan. I've been reading posts here, but I was wondering if anyone knows a really good site out there for nutrition/exercise plans for losing weight. Really, any help in getting started/figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.

Well snap, I just saw Warboss Alex's post on fat loss -- I had been searching weight loss. If a mod wants to delete this thread, that's fine. Plus as a bonus, I'll look like less of a nob >__>

Start a journal if you like.

The anabolic diet is probably a better option for you, check out stronglifts.com for more info.

Good luck.

losing (and keeping off) more than 1-2 pounds of body fat per week is very, very difficult, so you're looking at 1-2 years, depending on your progress.

that's way too far out to set a goal. try setting yourself goals for 3 months from now, tops, with interim measures of your progress. i recommend you focus on how you look in the mirror, plus tape measure around the waist at regular intervals, and much less emphasis on the scale, which is unreliable, esp. when trying to add muscle while shed fat.
