I used to be skinny fat until I started working out six months ago. Now my arms are getting bigger, but even with cardio (treadmill) I still haven't lost the gut. It isn't that big of a deal, because with proper posture and most clothing and most angles, it isn't noticeable. But it bothers me.

I'm wondering what type of exercises and diet I should be on if I want to tighten up my chest.

A lot of this is just bad genetics...even when I was scrawny, I still had the shape of a skinny fat person, just not as bad. But I'm trying to flatten it out.

Any suggestions? I started doing leg raises.

You can't target certain areas of your body to remove fat from. For example, if you have fat on your stomach you can't target that fat by doing sit ups.

You have to lower your overall bodyfat percentage. The best way to do this is clean up your diet and do heavy compound lifts and high intensity short duration conditioning sessions. But by far the most important thing when it comes to losing fat is your diet, especially if you have ****ty genetics.

As Kerpal said doing situps are useless for loosing fat around your waste, and that fat is generally lost all over your body when you loose weight.

The time to lower belly fat can be reduced with a very strict diet - no workout will change this, you cannot out train a bad diet. You may have high visceral fat if you drink alcohol regulary.

Doing a complete cut on alcohol, suger, processed foods and limiting your carbs to only vegies and salard (no bread, pasta, rice) is the way to go, just make sure to keep your protein intake high and aim to eat every 3 hours. Keeping fruit and nuts to one portion a day.
What is your height and weight?

If your wasteline is too much of an issue, which it will become if you continue to gain weight, I'd suggest cutting down as much as possible (without getting too skinny) and then bulk. Following by pyramid training - i.e. 2 month bulk, 1 month cut throught the year.

I don't beleive in going on "major bulks" as it would take far too much time to burn off the fat that would lead to too much loss in muscle gains.

I don't drink at all (I have an occasional drink at a restaurant but I don't binge drink)...I'm 6 ft, 165 pounds. You might be thinking "skinny"...but with a shirt off I have a small gut...not hard at all.

My body is a lot like that of a hot curvy (real curvy, not fat curvy) girl. If I shaved my body hair and took a picture of my backside and front side (minus my d*ck) you'd probably think I was a HB lol.

I also have an indent in between my chest...there's a medical term for it, I forget it...but it's like if I were laying down, a girl could pour a drink in the hole and drink from it.

I do intense workouts including heavy compound lifts but i wasn't able to lose my gut until recently. I also lost alot of weight. I'm hoping once this gut goes away i can build up more muscle and keep off the gut.

I've been losing my gut not from cardio but from RUNNING. I don't job, i sprint and then run to warm down and do more sprinting. That coupled with my normal workouts, my gut has been diminishing very quickly. I make it a point to run faster than my last run.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

I want to lose the gut in 2 months or less. The rest of my body looks too good not to. My arms are toned, even if not huge, my upper body is strong...then I have a mini Homer Simpson belly. You can't tell with clothes on, even tight clothing, because it doesn't protude that much...but I have love handles and a jelly stomach and want to completely get rid of it and not sure what I should be doing.

I hear crunches and sit ups are actually counterproductive and useless for weight loss.

What's weird is that while my diet hasn't been the best, I don't eat in quantity. I have about two medium sized meals a day, no junk food (chips, ice cream, fast food and the like) and so on.

There's no reason for me to have this stomach other than bad genes, and it's ruining an otherwise good body. I'd like to be able to take my shirt off at the beach.
