For those who are more experienced than me, is it bad to loose weight and try to gain muscles at the same time? should I loose the fat first then gain musicle or just gain muscle?

Thank you for any serious response

Hello

Doing both things at the same time is hard if not impossible. If you have lots of fat and are just starting out then do a small cut before you start to build muscle, you'll probably add some muscle even if you cut if you eat right. If you try to do both then you will probably get no where.

It can be done. I've went from 265 to 235 in about a month and a half. I've increased my overall strength during that time too (though somewhat weaker shoulders).

It depends on what body type you are. Endomorphs and mesomorphs have an easier time keeping muscle mass than ectomorphs while cutting. What helps is eating outrageous amounts of protein (at least one gram for every pound you weigh).

i don't consider 1 gram of protein / lb an outrageous amount.. that's actually not that much.

If you wanna drop weight and increase strength, it's a tough proposition. It'll go reallly slow and you probably won't stick with it because you won't be seeing any visible results for a month or two. But, here are the basics:

-early morning light cardio (read: brisk walk) on an empty stomach, 40-50 mins 5 times a week
-green tea... lots (like a half gallon to a gallon a day)
-lots of water (like a gallon a day)
-don't mix carb/fat meals, only carb/protein or fat/protein.
-cut carbs off ~ 5 pm or 6pm
-blast the protein, 2g/lb of bodyweight.
-lift intense, but get enough rest.
-eat every 2-3 hours

The problem with building muscle while losing fat is that they're non-complementary actions. Building muscle requires a caloric surplus, while losing fat requires a caloric defecit.

I'd recommend the eBook "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venuto. There's a lot of information in that book that can't be covered via forum, and you'll want the information to make more educated decisions.

In my position, I've opted to cut the fat first before deciding if I should bulk up or not. I might get down to my target body fat percentage and decide that I like the way I look!
You never know, you might like how you look if you got your BF% down to a single digit, and it's easier to drop that fat than it is to build muscle tissue.
