Doc Love's LOOKS article was informational. Yep, it is ABSOLUTELY true that women go for looks. Everyone knows this, contrary to the ridiculous "sense of humor" response you usually get. So start dealing in reality.

SO YOURE A "5"??? That means youre right in the middle of the pack. You look perfectly normal, but you don't set off Women's Buttons??? Good news. First of all, women find ALL kinds of things attractive about men, and MOST OF THEM you can improve significantly.

1. BODY. Get ROCKED up. THis means you have MUSCLES and TONE, and possibly some TAN on your bod. DOnt just lift weights. Get in good cardio shape. I follow this routine: run 4 miles a day five days a week, and lift weights 15 min/ 4 days a week.

2. FACE: THe right haristyle is very important. Dont trust yourself. ASK several women HOW you can improve your style.
Also, COMBING YOUR HAIR BACK ON THE SIDES can show dramatic results. Try it now,,use some gel, and come it back on
the sides. Leave the bangs to dangle in front.

3. FACIAL HAIR:: Sorry, but chances are you DONT look good with that mustache. Its a rare guy who can do facial hair right. One in TEN id say. Lose it.

4. SKIN: Get some sun, and get a close shave. Stubble ok if it works on you.

5. TEETH: Gotta be WHITE. For a hundred bucks, a dentist will make you look like a star.

6. CLOTHES: theres enough already written here on this topic.
You LIke grunge?? Forget about it. Grunge works on GREAT LOOKING guys. Not on you. Polo shirts(trust me on this) with the little medallion on the chest GETS attention.

7. ATTITUDE: This REALLY DOES have a "look". Think about dominant people you know. SEE? They have a style and an aggressive nature that "SHOWS". CHances are you need help on this one. Ask someone who's got it down to show you how.

8. THIN FACE: Get rid of that chubby face. Thin is better on most everyone.

Pulling OFF Grunge? An 8

For some reason, every sloppy average guy seems to think he looks wonderful in grungy dirty mangy threads.

EARTH TO THAT GUY!!::: You are NOT kurt kobain, michael stipe, a rock star, anyone famous, and above all, you look like a loser.

So if you need a number, an 8 comes to mind.

Even if you are an 8(an 90 percent of people who think
they are are NOT) think again.

You do have a point. What are some other things that would get attention but would seem, I don't know, tougher than a polo shirt and medallion?

Only closet queers who go to country club polo meets wear pol-shirts. :D Screw that.

I'd say go for the hipster look, if you want to look presentable yet still have a fashionista edge about you. Wear some faded jeans (they're the rage these days, you can get em in all sorts of finishes and shapes), an interesting pair of shoes (think COLOR and PATTERN, not brand name), and maybe an interesting top, like a retro t-shirt, or a fitted black/navy blazer or a jean jacket. You can look clean-cut and presentable, but still have that 'street edge'. Polo shirts are for guys with small d****. :D

haha good post
If I mix what you said with some other style, say hip hop, could that be done in a way where it doesn't scare girls away but still pulls more of a certain type in? Not sure if that makes sense

I don't wanna turn this into another looks vs. personality debate - I agree with the obvious truth that looks matter. However do NOT discount the affect of personality, humor, and CHARM.

Anyway, just wanna add that there are more than just 1 clothing style out there  Bad Boy, Rocker, Prepster, Sports guy, etc. Pick something that fits YOUR personality and go with it. Get a girl to help here if you need to (I was clueless before I started paying attention to this stuff). Don't ignore the latest rules of fashion though unless you don't care about this stuff, in which case we wouldn't be here...

I get a lot of attention from what is depicted on those shirts too, its sort of a defiance thing for them "oh look at whats on that shirt, he must not really care about what the school rules on violent shirts say!" CUZ I DON'T GIVE ONE CENT OF A DAMN!!!!!

Fashion also depends somewhat on your age. I used to wear those metal t-shirts in high school and got the same effect. I still like to wear those but now women have said they look nerdy lol :p

Metal shirts, goth, and any of those dark styles don't work after high school. You look like a redneck (metal shirts) or a loser (goth).

If you have broad shoulders and your arms are big enough to fill up the sleeves, polo shirts can look pretty good. Retro shirts work on a very few very skinny males. Otherwise they're about as cool as Abercrombie and Fitch and trucker hats.

A lot of music from the nineties was called grunge. It is kind of like punk/metal: Soundgarden, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush

Take two of your female friends with you when you are clothes shopping. Tell them you want to look good and you need their help. Buy whatever they tell you to buy.

Don't take your sister. Take your sister's friends.

Polo shirts, um... not for me, but yes on the question of dressing well, most guys have no style whatsoever.

Yes looks are important, but personality is also important, you need both to thrive.
