I am white but more on the lighter end (get told I look like Chris Martin from Coldplay a lot) but over the years, I've noticed that I tend to attract a lot of ethnic women (what white guy doesn't?) such as latinas and Asian women but also a lot of swarthier white women (dark hair and tanned).

Not sure if I am noticing this more or what but with hot girls, I notice they go for the opposite.

A sizable chunk of Mediterranean and swarthier brunettes I see love blonde guys and will often compromise in looks when going for one. I've seen Megan Fox lookalikes go for an average looking blonde guy a great deal.

I have seen quite a few natural blondes go for guys on the darker end of white or just white guys with dark hair.

What about you guys? Are you seeing yourself attracting the opposite too?

It is not your imagination; your observations are correct for the most part.

Do you have light eyes? Most men I have read; irregardless of their own eye color, seem to prefer women with lighter eyes, where the only women who seem to go gaga over a guy with blue eyes/green eyes are the Latin, Asian, Mediterranean types. Women with blue eyes tend to like men with very dark eyes.

I am also white, but the exact opposite of you. I have dark hair, dark eyes and a somewhat Olive complexion. I can pass for Italian, Greek, Portuguese or Lebanese and I definitely look Mediterranean.

While I have had an Indian girl and some Hispanic girls interested in me in the past; I would say 70% of the women who seem interested in are blonde hair/light brown hair with lighter eyes of just maybe a girl with medium brown hair, brown eyes with fair complexion. The last girl I went out with is fair skinned, red haired with brown eyes.

Considering the demographics of where I live (suburb in the outskirts of a metropolitan city), I do attract a fair amount of women that aren't in my race, and for those that are curious, I'm African-American.

It goes deeper than just the race as a whole, I've also noticed there are select women from ethnical backgrounds that are attracted men like myself and some that don't. For example, with Latinas, I'd attract a lot of Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexicans, and Brazilians but not so much success with Cubans and Ecuadorians. As for Caucasian, It's mostly other Americans then British and maybe French but no so much Italians. Asians? I wouldn't know, they're a rare commodity here.

@oc16 where in the US are you at? I do notice that the whole women liking darker guys thing is overplayed in some areas, blondes seem to want to reserve their genes these days but this is more true of American blondes than foreign ones.

@OJN_98

Very accurate, Italian women absolutely despise darker skinned people and darker skinned men in general, same for Italian American women although I do have a couple of Indian friends who attract them a great deal so not sure what is going on there.

Mediterranean women in general are some of the biggest white supremacists out there, quite a few have the same beliefs as a lot of the alt-right folks do.

it is true Italian Americans, Portuguese, Spanish seem to be racist towards black people. I am not saying I am; if you are decent human being I will be cool with you (regardless of race). I think Mediterranean people feel like they are in the middle (since they are swarthy) and feel like they have to prove their whiteness to the WASP by being racist.

Is there some degree of "opposites attract" with skin tone? Yeah, probably.

I'm a very light skinned white guy. I did best with Latinas in the past. The type of white women that would frequent the tanning salon would probably find me too "pale" but whatever lol.

I live in the northeast and most definitely see that. Italian Americans in the NYC area are some of the most racist people you will ever meet, they aren't shy of it either. Same with the Polish, Russians, and Eastern Euros although their women do go for ethnic looking men a great deal from what I see.

I've had Polish, Italian, and South African women in particular that come to mind having had some kind of problems towards me being English (or more like their social circles were). Either talking trash in a different language, keeping me out of the loop on certain things, or their circle pressing a preference, etc.

And I'm a white Englishman.

It wasn't the girls though. It was the social scene.

I don't think they are more racist than anyone else. It's just a typical us against the world mentality that is characteristic of being human. And I suppose you are going to get it more so among immigrant communities.

Interest level trumps it.

So, when these NYC Italian girls are mouthing off, they'll likely say one thing and then do another. And that will change, even in front of her scene the more invested she becomes.

Not gonna lie, English girls make American feminazi women look good.

Women are just women at the end of the day. People are just people.

I think you are on to something. I'm a gray haired old b@stard now, but when I was younger I had very dark hair. And I noticed that when I was in my early to mid twenties, blondes seemed to go for me easily, but I had a hard time attracting girls with dark hair. It was kind of weird, but I came to the same conclusion you did.

There is a scientific explanation for this: People with varied genes have healthier babies. The opposite of this would be incestuous relationships, which have higher rates of birth defects.

Yup, as I said as someone familiar with NYC Italian girls, they are like that. I have met black and even Indian guys that clean up with that demographic.

guess that explains why I see a good bit of white girls with dark hair still going for minorities.
