Does anyone have any experience with this?
I'm currently trying real hard to launch a seo article/blogging business so that I can be location independent and get the **** outta Toronto here but its proven to be quite the challenge. I've switched up several strategies and each one brings me just a little closer each time but I'm still not getting the success I want.
At the moment I have a website with about 10-12 writing samples from a variety of general topics in different industries which I created using wordpress after spending about a month or two learning the basics. I' still a novice when it comes to wordpress but I can probably get a really basic website up and running in a few days.
At first I tried to email local internet marketing companies with a template email but that proved to be disastrous and I got like 3 replies after sending out close to 200 emails lol and no sale.
Then I made some major revisions to my website, and targeted local mom and pop shops instead, and managed to get 1 sale on my first 50 emails I sent out and it left me ecstatic. However, not I'm struggling to reproduce those same results after sending out another 300 emails. I've gotten about 10-15 companies that ask about pricing right away but then I never hear back after quoting them the price. I think my rates are about average in the industry unless they are looking for writings from India/Philippines who are willing to work for $5-10 an article. **** that!
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with seo article/blogging or even anything location independent? How did you manage to get clients and retain clients as well? I'm currently cold emailing clients but some people have mentioned cold calling as well. Even though cold calling gives me the shivers, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this business a success but I'm just wondering if that's all there is too it or is there something else I'm missing?
Its just been one failure after failure and I've become quite frustrated with this and despite really feeling the pressure to just pack my bags and give up, I refuse to throw in the towel.
