I really think this can help you to become more a mature, attractive man. As your listening to the music and start getting into it you'll pick up on the correct beliefs within the music.

Good Artists are:

-Gangstarr (Ex-girl to next girl & Royalty are good)
-Kanye West
-Common
-Jay-z
-Geto Boys (maybe a little bit on the abusive side, but still good)
-DMX
-Biggie Smalls (Juicy is a must!):
"Girls used to diss me
Now they write letters cause they miss me
I never thought it could happen, this rappin stuff
I was too used to packin gats and stuff
Now honies play me close like butter played toast
From the mississippi down to the east coast"
"Damn right I like the life I live, cause I went from negative to positive and it's all good"
-Ludacriss: from my sig:
Ask Me, I'd Say I Made It, And It Sure Wasn't Luck
Cuz Hustler's Relate To Me, And Some Are Younger Than Buck
You See I'm Married To My Music, But We Got A Prenupt
So If That Biatch Don't Act Right, I'm Still Gettin My Cut
My Deals Never Get Screwed, My Contracts Practice Abstinence
I'm Masterin This Program, Hazin' These Undergraduates
So, Pimpin' Be Easy, Quit Catchin' Feelings
Cuz You Worth A Couple Hundred Grand, And I'm Worth Millions

Other good suggestions are welcome!

gangsta rap is rapped by actual gangsters

none of the aforementioned are gangsters

anyway are you implying that we develop a sense of superiority over women or something?

JT is a WBAFC and then TI comes on the mic and lays out a whole DJ like verse.
Justin Timberlake
Ain't no other woman that could take your spot my..

If I wrote you a symphony
Just to say how much you mean to me (what would you do)
If I told you, you were beautiful
Would you date me on the regular (tell me would you?)
Well baby, I've been around the world
But I ain't seen myself another girl (like you)

This ring here represents my heart
But there's just one thing I need from you (say I do)

[Bridge:]
Because, I can see us holding hands
Walking on the beach our toes in the sand
I can see us on the country side
Sitting on the grass laying side by side
You can be my baby
Let me make you my lady
Girl you amaze me
Aint gotta do nothin crazy
See all I want you to do is be…

[Chorus x2]
My love (so don't give away)
My love (so don't give away)
My love (so don't give away)
Ain't another woman that could take your spot my love

[TI:]
aIright it’s time to get it JT
I don’t know what she hesitating for man
(Aye aye) Shorty, cool as a fan
On the new once again
(Baby) Still has fans from Peru to Japan
Listen baby, I don't wanna ruin your plan
But if you got a man, try to lose him if you can
Cause the girls real wild throw they hands up high
when they wanna come and kick it wit a stand up guy
you don't really wanna let the chance go by
Cause you ain't been seen wit a man so fly
(baby) France so fly I can go fly
Private, cause I handle my B-I
They call me candle guy, simply because I am on fire
I hate to have to cancel my vacation so you can't deny
I'm patient, but I ain't gonna try
You don't come, I ain't gonna die
Hold up, what you mean, you can't go why?
Me and you boyfriend we ain't no tie
You say you wanna kick it, when i aint so high
Well baby, its obvious that I ain't your guy
I ain't goin lie, I feel your space
But forget your face, I swear I will
St. Barths, Anguilla, anywhere I chill
Just bring wit me a pair, I will

It won't let me edit that previous post right now, but i left out the beginning when I pasted it. I meant to say that thats Justin Timberlake's song My Love ft. TI. It kinda shows a contrast in an AFC's mind and a DJ's mind

Yeah, listening to a bunch of hoodlums, many of whom will end up dead or in jail are great role models to listen to.

Goddamn stupid rap has done nothing but propogate the whole "girls love the money" attitude that has been prevelant for the last decade or so.

No, but you can use the beliefs that they possess that attract women and then not be abusive.

Gangstarr, Kanye, Common and Jay-z are a lot better role models then the rest.

Same goes for music like Motley Crue, just adopt the beliefs but without the abuse.
I believe Geto Boys are gangsters, at least, they claim to be

Is this post being sarcastic?

I would say the exact opposite. Gansta rap is all about negativity, hate and bad attitude. What's more, have you seen wannabe gangstas and pimps? Impressionable kids who dress, talk and try to act gangsta are a laughing stock.

I say just listen to what you like, dress how you like and don't conform to any generic image.

I think hiphop is better than gangsta rap, but gangsters are still able to get women so it's just taking the best out of it. Not taking over the 'let's kill everyone who f*cks with us' attitude.

Hiphop like Kanye and Common is very positive music.

definitely agree with that :)

I dont like a lot of rap and hip hop cuz its hate-filled and full of these "ghetto" idiots.

Kanye West has some good lyrics, and yes, his are far more positive than lots of other rap and hip hop.

the best thing about rap is that they have the attitude that they are BETTER than women. in a world of AFCs, this is definitely not a bad attitude to have.

Rap is just like any genre...there's good and bad rap/hip-hop

Most gangsta rap isn't art, but there are TONS of rap artists who can qualify their music as art music, are more eloquent than many politicians/public speakers, and are very philosophical, spiritual, and educational....

Take the hook from Nas' I know I can...

"I Know I can...be what I wanna be, If I work hard at it, I'll be where I wanna be"...

Rakim's Teach the Children...

For DJism...Jay-Z

"Do I, to you, look like a lame that don't understand a broad with a mean shoe game?"

lol...

so please...coming in here talking about how rap is just full of swindlers, drug addicts, pimps, women beaters, women loving money...

when you aren't fully aware of the scope of the music, is as ignorant as saying all rock stars use cocaine, when there are guys like John Mayer out there.

Don't be ignorant.

Nah listening to a wide selection of music is the best I reckon - in my cd changer in the car I have, Madonna Greatest Hits, Kaiser Chiefs, Blink 182, Limp Bizkit, Duran Duran, and Ministry of Sound on the MP3 Player...near enough guaranteed to cater for any requirement! Plus I like all that music anyhow!!!

Exactly
Check out the song Diamonds are Forever (and also the remix with Jay-Z).
There is a ton of wisdom in that song.

See a part of me saying keep shining, how?
When I know of the blood diamonds,
Though it's thousands of miles away,
Sierra Leone connect to what we go through today
Over here it's a drug trade, we die from drugs
Over there, they die from what we buy from drugs
The diamonds, the chains, the bracelets the charms’s
I thought my Jesus piece was so harmless
till I seen a picture of a shorty armless
and here's the conflict - it's in a black person soul to rock that gold
Spend ya whole life trying to get that ice
On that polo rugby it look so nice,
how could something so wrong make me feel so right, right?
Before I beat myself up like Ike
You can still throw ya Rocafella diamond tonight
because...
Diamonds are forever
The name is mine, I'll take blame for that
The pressures on, but guess who ain't gon' crack?
*Ha Ha* Pardon me, I had to laugh at that
How could you falter?
When you're the Roc of Gibraltar
I had to get off the boat so I could walk on water
This ain't no tall order, this is nothing to me
Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week
I do this in my sleep, I sold kilo's of coke
(So) I'm guessing I can sell CD's
I'm not a businessman,
I'm a business, man!
Let me handle my business, damn
If you take beliefs like this it'll definetly make you feel more powerfull in all areas. And the song rocks too!

Jay-Z is with Beyonce, so his skills aren't that bad (they are both rich, she doesn't have to do it for the money)

but see ya'll dont understand...now i know alot of these guys are just pretending to be gangsta but alot of them are from terrible neighborhoods where what they rap about is all they know. alot of the rappers are also starting up funds and charities and stuff like that in the neighborhood to help kids escape the life they lived. Snoop raps about Cripin all the time, but just gave a kid a 1 million dollar check in his hometown of long beach, ca to help him through college. like me im from Southside Chicago Wild 100's and done seen the worst of the worst, murders, rapes, robberies alla dat u name it. the only way to get out is be good in sports or rap. so most of us non athletes choose rappin and tell our hood stories on tracks. but alot of theses dudes are fake.

I reckon gangsta rap/some hip hop rock. As long as you are not wearing Eminem jeans and Snoop dogg hat. Then there are no dramas. I listen a bit of everything even classical but gansta rap tupac, dmx, biggie all top rappers get me going and motivated to an exxtent eg. before a soccer match or something..

Right, there's nothing wrong with gangsta rap as long as the art is there. Like Biggie. Dude talked about nothing but women, cars, and money...but did it with metaphors, puns, and deadly flows. He rose above his upbringing.

Rakim used to talk about clappin people and robbin, whatever, but he rose above it.

Jay-Z is known to have moved weight, but he rose above it.

Telling the story is different from actually still being a dumbass and doing it.
