This is the worst thread ever! I keep checking back here for some linear algebra to solve, and nothing. The Hockey Playa guy is an a**hole!

Question 1: Show that every set of vectors from P2 are linearly dependant

Question 2:Let T:R3-R3 be a linear transformation defined by:
T(x1,x2,x3) = (x3, x1+x2+x3, -x3)
*Prove T is a one-to-one operator
*Find T-1 (w1,w2,w3)

Question 3: Determine whether A is a subspace of ( all m2x2 matrices)

A=[a b]
[o c] (one matrix) [a,b,ER]

What exactly is giving you trouble in these problems? I'll help you figure out concepts, but I'm not going to do anything that a professor won't approve of.

Turn this into a matrix and take the determinant. You know what they say when the determinant of a matrix is NOT zero?

As for the rest, sounds like it's in some obscure notation that no engineer would ever use. Unless all the students in that class are going to be publishing the American Journal of New Discoveries in Annoying Subscripts, I don't think you need to know it.

Notations were the most annoying things I had to deal with in math classes.

What are you guys' majors btw?

Never mind, i'll make a new thread asking that.
