Lots of things contribute to it.
Overly Focused on the Future: Young folks today are zeroing in on their studies and jobs. They've got big plans and ambitions, and sometimes that means romance takes a back seat while they're building their futures. This will delay marriage and childbirth.
Health-Conscious: Knowledge about health risks, especially STIs, is pretty widespread now, and it's making Gen Z think twice and act wisely. They're being careful, and that's just being smart. There are strains of shyte that do not react to treatment, like super gono.
Economic Realities: Money's tight for many young adults, with loans to pay off and a tough job market. So, they might not be in a hurry to enter a relationship when they're focused on getting their finances straight.
Careful with Relationships: Dating isn't what it used to be. Gen Z is truly scared of relationships.
Mental Health in the Spotlight: Mental well-being is a big priority today. Gen Z is paying attention to how relationships affect their peace of mind, and they're not keen on complicating their lives without good reason. Add to that analysis paralysis, which we often see with the younger crowd. All some of our young posters do is talk, talk, and talk, often about the same thing repeatedly - and do nothing. You guys know what I mean; we have a few active threads that show it perfectly.
Plenty of Online Distractions: There's a lot of online content that can be, let's say, distracting. Some think it might be influencing real-life expectations and choices in the dating scene. See pr0n users...
Broad Spectrum of Identities: There's more recognition and acceptance of various sexual orientations and identities today. It's about understanding themselves and respecting the diverse ways people experience attraction. Not Rushing Life's Milestones: Life's significant events, like getting married or starting a family, are happening later for Gen Z. They're PARALYZED IN FEAR OF IT.
Conscious About Consent: The whole "consent" thing is absurd and adds to paranoia and hesitation - specifically with how important the youngsters think social media is - OMerGawd! I might lose a few followers - my life would end!
