I've legally immigrated to United States from Russian Federation. Since Tuesday I'm in beautiful Miami. Waiting for my green card to arrive in the mail, it takes some time. Meanwhile, immigrant visa in my passport serves as my temporary alien card, valid up to a year.

Ask me anything.

Welcome to my country. I'm glad you came here.

A friend of mine is an immigration attorney. Just FYI, he says they are cracking down hard right now on everyone with a green card. If you leave the country, they revoke your application with any hearing or appeal. And they always look for any tiny reason to mess with you. So please, learn all of the silly rules and restrictions and follow them closely.

It's 180 days continues. That means, they add up all the time you have been absent from the country throughout the years and if it's 180 days or more that's a reason for deportation.

However, lady I left my 2 bedroom appartment behind with, not renting, she's just watching it, plus I have 4 cameras in it, just in case. She has green card for sometime. She use it for travel to see her daughter. She comes to United States twice a year for a month, but otherwise she lives in Russia. She's saying that she's okey and she don't want a citizenship. Maybe the reason she travels twice a year is because she understood the 180 continuous days differently. I don't know. But she's fine without a citizenship, so whatever.

Also, another reason for deportation is drugs. Even admitting that you did drugs in the past. Even unrelated drug offences, like drug parafanalia or driving with a person who had drugs. So realizing that people love weed here, I really have to watch out for this.

Another one is two fellonies in a row. So things like having a license while fishing is very important.

Go see Sochi, it's a resort town with sea and mountains, ski in the winter, swim in the summer. If you like it, I most likely will be selling my two bedroom appartment in the future. Price is 150k. Two bedroom, 2nd floor, fully furnished.

Funny things from my trip.

In Russia I registered, they took my luggage, I went through passport control and customs, I'm sitting in the waiting area for around 40 minutes. Then I decided to go into my backpack. I go into my backpack and I realize I'm missing wheels for my luggage. My luggage has removable wheels. Apperantly I left the wheels in my cart. So I go back through customs and passport control, they do de-registering on me, I get another stamp in my passport. I walk up to registration desk and ask the girl working there if she seen my wheels. She's clueless. I go to a cop ask him what to do. He showed me towards carts (which are free by the way, just like wifi), I go through carts and find none. Then he showed me towards janitor, maybe she seen them. Indeed, older woman, she did find them and was going to throw them out, but saved them just in case.

Then in Turkey it was an adventure. Turkish airport in Istanbul is a disney land, it's more of a shopping mall than an airport. The plane taxied for about 10 minutes before coming to a stop. Then I got off the plane and walked for 10 minutes towards passport control. Then got the luggage and went through customs. I pretty much got strip searched on customs, but it wasn't over for security checks in Turkey. Then I walk for another 10 minutes to departures. Then go through security, which again strip search me. Then another 10 minutes walking towards the gate. By the time I got in the general area of my gate, I was exhausted. Again wait for the plane. Then I had to go through another multiple security check points. Before you go to the gate you go through 1, 2, 3, 4 people that check you. The final one was another strip search, but now with the elements of swap for explossive materials -- this one they saved for last. All that fun was to get on a bus and have a 10 minute drive toward a plane, that taxies another 10 minutes before take off.

Miami was the best one. Approach was cloudy, city was shining bright bellow clouds, nice pictures. I got off the plane, went through passport control real quick, picked up my luggage real quick, and exited airport. All was super quick and efficient. I saw just one s.o.b. outside asking if I need taxi. I thought I wouldn't see that here in United States.

why the fvck would you want to come here?
You realize more than 70% of the world doesn't have 24/7 access to either running water or electricity and that they live on under $900 a month right?

Comical how people have so much to complain about in the US because they are so clueless how the vast majority of the world lives and thinks everything we have is the norm around the world when it's actually the exception.
