I have a problem that I'm working on. This problem may be very hard for some of you to understand, whereas others will know exactly what I'm talking about.
I find it hard to have fun.
Oh, I do things I like, and to me it's a good time. But it's very difficult for me to just "cut loose" at a party or bar or something.
I had a teacher once who said the biggest regret from his childhood was that his parents never taught him how to have fun (now, he's a pretty outgoing and "fun" guy). I think I have this same problem.
I was the oldest child, the one who studied, got good grades, and focused on "important things" like trying to get a good job and not screwing it all up. I've succeeded in that department. But now I want to work on other areas of my life. I need to learn to loosen up.
Yesterday, I was at a baseball game. Now, I was *WAAY* more comfortable than I would have been 3 years ago, but nonetheless, I found it very hard to act like the "fun" guys all around me.
I have been making progress. I laugh a lot more, I'm more talkative and braver with my humor. But I could use some advice if anyone here has been in this situation.
