I'm looking at temporarily moving to Las Vegas to try and get involved in a company out there.

Any Vegas locals on the site? I know its glitzy as a tourist but what is it like as a local? I'm looking for a decent woman and I can't really imagine meeting good women there. I automatically think of hookers and strippers, heh.

Is there much to Vegas besides the nightlife?

I'm a Vegas local. Only 16 so too young to get into the clubs, but Vegas is a lot different than tourists think. The strip is the only place like that, the rest of the city is just like any other. Pretty cool place, almost anything you can do or find in other cities you can get in Vegas.

I lived in north las vegas for a couple of months. If you are the type that doesn't mind being inside the house for a long time than vegas is a good place. It gets so hot out there that you won't see a soul walking the streets, people have to stay inside. The climate is the bad part but the good part is that rent/housing is affordable and so many if not most of the houses/apartments/neighborhoods look new (and are new) so you can find a nice looking neighborhood with an affordable apartment that is only a few years old pretty easily. If I can recommend 1 thing is to live in vegas not north las vegas (separate towns). North las vegas has a lot of crime, some bad neighborhoods and gangs. Still a lot of it if not most are new neighborhoods and houses so you probably won't see the bad side (the old neighborhoods, the ghettos). If you asked me if I would live there again I would say yes but I still live with my parents but I would definitely consider going independent in Vegas like you are.

Now when it comes to women yes there are b1tchy "i just wanna have fun" self centered b1tches, but Vegas does have a little southern/country feel to it. You will find some nice girls that aren't totally airheads and a bit humble im sure.

How easy is it to get a job? Bartending or casino related? I'm looking at finance related stuff but if I want to get involved in this other business I might have to work a second job to afford to get in the door.

Yeah, the "I just want to have fun" girls are what I am scared of. I mean, I like to have fun with the best but I want to have fun with girls that have their acts together.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

My guess is that you shouldn't have a problem finding a casino related job (I did hear that they make you work like a horse though). I heard that if you get with the union you shouldn't have a problem getting a casino job. I don't think you would have a problem finding a job after all if 5k people move to Vegas a month (or is it a week?) you know things are good there (not everyone works at casinos). New businesses always pop up due to construction which is going on all the time. Vegas is definitely an exciting city that has a good future where you can buy a nice modern house at an affordable price if you're thinking of settling down and having a family in the future.

My suggestion is to visit first and check out the place you're moving to. Ask around to know if that is a good neighborhood, ask where the bad neighborhoods are (to know if you are close to them), ask about how far the place your thinking of moving into is from food stores and businesses etc. You probably already know all this stuff im just telling you what I know from living in 3 different states and not being 23 yet.

Once again, I think I can comment on this one. I work at the forum shops in Caesar's Palace, and have also worked at NYNY and Circus Circus. The hours can be a *****. Even though you have a schedule while working in the casinos, there's a lot of last minute schedule juggling. At least that's how it is in the retail shops.

Joe, I'm guessing you lived here in the summer? Yeah, it gets really hot during summertime, but in winter we actually get some snow, and the rest of the seasons we have pretty nice weather. In my neighborhood there are always people hanging out outside.

Celadus, there are a lot of *****y girls here, but they aren't the majority. Vegas also has the hottest girls I've ever seen in my life (And I've lived in about 12 cities in 5 countries).

Also, be very careful when picking a realtor. My mom's a real estate agent, and from listening other realtors, there are a lot of them that are just out there to sell you the most expensive house they can get you into.
