All right, men. I'm headed to Las Vegas from July 27-31. Two days work, two days play.

What do you men have to say about Las Vegas trips? I'm balling on a budget too, so I can't make it rain, but hail could be in the forecast.

Plus, if anyone would like to meet up out there, I'd be more than willing to kick it.

This will be my first trip out to Sin City. Hope she goes easy on me.

Vegas is dangerous. For your bank account. It is sooo easy to spend way too much money there. And the problem is, it's so worth it that you don't consider it a bad thing. I have a friend that just got back 2 weeks ago. He told me he went to strip club, ordered a bottle of Miller Lite.. $24. So be careful, haha!

I will be there in 2-3 weeks and it will be my first time out there single, or not with family members. I'm counting down the days, and I don't even have it booked yet.

Last time I was out there, I had a friend that came back to our room after he was gambling. He was drunk out of his mind bragging about how he got so many free drinks, and we are all "idiots" and "suckers" for not getting free drinks at the tables. Once he sobered up the next morning, he realized he lost $850 at the table while he got his "free drinks". I continually have the last laugh on that one.

I'm staying at the Luxor for my two nights of play. Best hotel I could find on a budget this late in the game. Only downside I see is that I have two queen beds in there. Not just one king. Oh well. Guess I'll have to be king.

Not to hijack the thread, but I am headed to Atlantic City in a few weeks and staying in the Trump hotel. Is it like Vegas where drinks are free or is it different?

They are, but they are more watered down and they don't come around nearly as often as they do in Vegas.

Oh, Vegas. I've been there about 3 times sense I've turned 21, and yes it is extremely easy to waste all your money there. There is a casino called the Sahara which is kind of a ways down north past Freemont and all that, which has $1 beers (Miller Light) if you don't mind going through the ghetto. I often go there and get a little loose, then hit up the strip.

From a pick-up stand point: I've learned that you have to swoop up the ladies kind of early. I always have a bad problem of being too picky or having this "Oh, I can probably hook up with her, but I wonder if I can find someone even hotter" kind of mindset, and there was times where I ended up with nothing. You have to remember that pretty much every guy on the strip is also looking to get laid. There are so many PUA's in Vegas it's rediculous. You will easily spot them too, they all dress exactly the same. But anyway, if you wait too long like me suddenly you stop seeing girls walking by themselves and you find less and less opportunities to open them up, they'll have some dude following them or up on their arm or whatever. I'd say your goal is to try and pick-up a girl by midnight, anything after that you're going to start having a little trouble or run into some conflict.

But yeah man. Vegas is hella fun. Also be weary of girls that just completely come on to you too strong out of nowhere (especially if you are dressed like a high roller). It isn't uncommon for woman to seduce men, have sex with them, then take their wallet and everything else while they're sleeping. Just something to look out for.

You could also do this. Often times I just buy a 30pack or something, go put all the beers in my rooms bathrub and keep walking back and forth down the hall filling it up with free ice. The end goal of course being to get some ladies to come "party" back up in your room with you. Buying liquor before hand is a good idea, but you cannot bring it into any clubs. They want you to come in and buy their ridiculous $12 beers. At times like this it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a girl (friend) with you to help you hide these in her purse. It can be done, just be smart about it.

Pool/day game could work great, but I think it would require some MASSIVE interest on her part. Why? Because often times both parties will want to separate for a bit and go "do their own thing". This happened to me last time I was in Vegas. I had met a girl at a concert and she was feeling me, so we exchanged numbers to go meet up at the strip later, just to call her up and have her flake on me. This is definitely a city where everything you have ever learned about plate theory should be applied all at once. Go out and get 15 numbers, tell every single one of them that you want to "meet up" later. It's better to have more options than none. Chances are, more than half of those are going to flake on you anyway. Rapport is so huge in Vegas. I cannot stress that enough.

I feel you about rapport. I am a great conversationalist and can work my around learning about someone, so hopefully I'll be all right. Just need to break out of my shell and approach, approach, approach.

let me tell you that the cosmopolitan is the best looking hotel there

if you get a chance go to Marquee. best club. get bottle service if you can. why? the service you get is crazy and instant.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I don't think I can afford bottle service, plus I am the only person going as it is for work, and none of my friends can get out there, so that presents a problem.

Good tips about what to wear. I planned on wearing a newer shirt I got, nicer jeans and Doc Martins one night.

I find that sober day game is important, to maximize your results. Pool game especially. Then meeting up with those prospects at some point or another. Then using night game as Plan B. Find the girls early, then have fun with them and not be so time-crunched later in the evening. Makes for a better time.

Vegas is a place where if you have some cash to blow, have been hitting the gym and feel good about yourself, and are looking to have fun, then you can do really well there in terms of pick up.

All other obstacles still apply: Your attitude, your friends (I hope they're cool), and a dash of luck. Winning a lot of money helps.

I travel from LA to Vegas about 3-5 times a year. I go mainly to gamble, but once a year we take a "boys trip".

Day time:
A cabana at the pool is a must. You will drop around 3 grand for a decent cabana at the likes of the hard rock - but it is well worth it. You get a couple bottles of booze and food - it's not to bad when you consider there's around 10 of you - 3 bills each. But you will get women gallore coming on up to your cabana - so there are oportunties to hook up with other group's of women.

Night time:
you definitely need bottle service. You'll get a prime table at the club - and you'll want somewhere to sit down, kick back with girls and grab a drink. Again, it doesn't work out to be much money when there is a group of you. you should look out for bachelorette parties - they are always out of towners just looking for a good time - you will quickly spot the anglers - and you can toss them to the curb quickly.
