I've recently developed pain in my left inner knee a week ago, everytime I walk theres a tight, slightly painful feeling in my left knee. The problem is the pain comes and gos but mostly is around for awhile. Now, I do not feel these pains when I'm doing squats (ATG) and usually after that I don't feel any pain but after a while it starts to come back. It sucks have struck a block in my goal of gaining muscle mass but the question is shouls I continue squatting whilst still having these pains? Or should I lay off squatting entirely and continue with SS upper body exercises instead?

lifting weight is being a non needed to do thing. it just tears you down. try the bodylastics bands. so much better and you can get a better than weight lifting workout. some people think because they are bands they are not as good but I got my best results from them.

Go to www.StartingStrength.com, go to the forums, post a video of your squat form for Rippetoe to critique. You're probably doing something wrong. Make sure you've read the book first, if you post a video and it's obvious you haven't read the book he won't help you.

I would recommend not squatting until the pain is gone. I have had this before. It happened overnight, actually, so I must have done something in my sleep. But the pain is exactly what you described. It was the inside of my left knee that only hurt when my leg extended as I walked.

I stayed away from leg work (aside from some straight leg dead lifts and some quad work) for about 2 weeks. I hated doing it, but I knew it was the right thing to do. Pain went away and I was able to get right back into my squats/presses/lunges with no problems.

hey kerpal, I get better results using them than lifting weights. many people have laughed at it but you keep wasting your time at the gym begging for results and tearing down your body. we all knows guys who want to put up big numbers in the gym still are trying to prove themselves. you might as well go buy a big truck if you dont already have one then go get a 45acp.

bands are way easier on the joints and you do not need a spotter or have any weightlifting accident. that is what the typical bodybuilder will tell you but these are the same guys on roids or dont get proper results.

lifting weights restricts motion while bands dont.
