mauro dipasquale right? read his books. nice stuff.

but i dont like his diet since its directed towards bodybuilders or fat powerlifters.(he has 3 books, anabolic diet for bb,anabolic diet for pw , anabolic diet.)

anyway ive been running a modified keto diet for like 4 months....no side-effects so far. i got two cheat days, wed and sun , so i load carbs on those days which makes the diet "tolerable".

read "the ketogenic diet" by lyle mcdonald

and yeah the first 6 weeks is when your body starts to adapt so , you have the wait for at least 8 weeks to get the full benefit.

I'm into carb cycling, which I suppose is similar. I only eat carbs on workout days. Granted, I eat a sh1t ton of them. That, combined with intermittent fasting and calorie counting got me in the best shape of my life.

It's on piratebay in a massive fitness and nutrition resource, most of it is **** but all his books are there so it's worth downloading

Stort, weren't you telling me how unsafe keto diets were?

I have now lost 40 pounds since August 1. I eat only meat, cheese, eggs and green vegetables (including 0 carb salad dressing.)

This diet is easier than falling off a log as long as you are eating enough.

I'm 6'5 275. Started at 315.

in this thread? http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?t=209387

don't believe I mentioned anything about keto. the argument was about eating every three hours oh and chicken and rice for dem dere GAINZ haha... but that is that thread and what is said is said so moving on to keto.

So pretty much I have hit a plateau in my current diet and want to change for a bit to get some better results so thought I might give the AD a try. So Danzy you are on keto yeah ?

I am 6'2 220lb so my daily intake is looking like as follows
fat - 180gm
protein - 165gm
cal - 2200

that is for a 30% deficit.

and then on recarb 36hr
fat - 75gm
carb - 650gm

sound about right to you?

I am either going insane (quite possible) or I totally misread what you said. I think it was in another thread than that but it doesn't matter.

One thing about keto diets is that you may find it very hard to work out. Something that worked for me was saving all my carbs for the day (20 grams) for the hour of my workout, then eat 10 grams carbs immediately before the workout and 10 during. Otherwise I would literally start passing out.

I think we are all a lil bit insane in the membrane bro. haha diet brain is still present... just realised i referred to you as danzy lol my bad.

yeah I never count anything when it comes to food. I used measurements of 1 cup or rice or sweet potato and then cut down to 3/4 if i needed to and so on. This is my first day and I'm after lunch I only have 500cal 60pro and 45 fat left for the day.... doing my head in HAHA

but change is what I need, Can never do the same thing for more than 6 months

I am indeed on keto. I have done this diet a number of times-- this time has been the most successful and I'm lighter now than I have been since 2003, even though I haven't worked out at all for the past year and that decade included numerous periods of hard workouts.

I think that the difference this time is that I am consuming more fat. I will often have a teaspoon of coconut oil/butter for a snack, for instance, or in my coffee.

I try to eat zero carbs. I probably end up eating 10-20 grams per day in the form of barbecue sauces, in green vegetables or whatnot.

I don't count what I eat at all. I eat until I'm satisfied. I have very little desire to snack or anything of the sort, even though I basically do intermittent fasting-- I eat one large meal a day, usually consisting of a large salad with goodly dressing and cheese, and then some fatty meats.

Since I started the diet I've been losing weight like there's no tomorrow.

good stuff man, there are so many people who swear by it so thought why not see what all the fuss is about. after eating next to no fat for over a year this is killing me mentally lol. and I am going to miss my 2cups of rice each meal for my bulk. But I just lost 10kg in 10 weeks and need to lose another 12 to get me down to 90kg 198lb hopefully by the end of the year if all goes according to plan.

I'll tell you this: You need to be an absolute NAZI about carbs. Try hard not to eat ANY. When you notice them creeping back into your diet, throw a ruthless purge and go back on eggs, bacon, cheese and sausage only (a terrible burden, I know.)

Even though I've done the diet before and had good results I am just astounded by how well it's working this time. In mid July I had literally burst the button on size 40s. In mid October, size 40s were falling off me so bad I couldn't wear them, and I was in 38s. Now, 38s are starting to get loose. I have never once been the slightest bit hungry.

my only problem is getting enough protein and fat without going over my calories by too much. the whole not eating carbs isn't that bad bacon, steak, eggs, cheese I can live with but with that all said I can't wait for recarb days haha

dont freak out if you start to get headaches or your sweat smells like acetone.its normal and will go away after a while....

as for recarb days, get in around 400-600 grams of carbs at one sitting.it has to be in one meal only.you dont cheat the whole day.

as for calories , just take the usual 3 meals per day thing but add shakes to make up for any calories you might have missed.
its easier to keep track of the nutrients when you use a protein powder.

drink lots of coffee and maybe aspirin. i have never used a fat burner so i cant recommend a TCA stack. (i dont recommend sh!t i havent tried)

In my experience I don't have to count calories at all, nor do I have any craving for carbs this time through the diet. I attribute that to not eating any carbs. I notice that if I eat some I crave some.

If you are working out and on keto you should lose weight hand over fist without having to count calories. It is very hard to eat enough food to maintain overweight while on keto diets.

One problem with a keto diet is a lack of antioxidants from fresh fruit. This is one reason I don't like keto. Make sure to have a well balanced meal plan and cook to preserve vitamins.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.
