Hey fellas! I'm looking for some tips and advice from any of ya'll out there that have thrown a kegger (or any other sort of party) before, or just have alot of experience. (Before anybody hates, yeah, I searched the topic and wasn't satisfied by the little I found.)

First and foremost, here's an overview: My parents are gonna be gone for about 5 days next month (from a Thursday till about 2AM the next Monday). This gives me a Friday and Saturday to throw a little something over near my residence.

I am thinking of throwing a small party at my house on Friday night with just a few of my close friends. But the next night, I'm wanting to throw an all out kegger.

As far as neighbors, I live out in the sticks. My nearest neighbor is an 80 year old house ridden guy that lives a half mile away. So that's no problem.

The kegger would be held at this old abandoned house about 1/8th of a mile down from my house and in a field by the house.

Anyways... As far as the little party Friday what sort of stuff should I be looking to have around?

The large party, I will prolly go for 2 kegs, and I'm not really sure of what else to get. Music is a must, and lighting for the area.

But, yep, that's about it. Any advice, I'd appreciate alot!

First off let me say that I have A LOT and when I say a lot i mean A LOT of experience in the party field. My friends and I are known around the school for throwing our parties.

Anyway...let me start by saying I think it would be better for u to throw the party AT your house just because there may be cops watching the abondoned house (happend to peolpe I know in this town - they were arrested.) 2ndly you should definately have some music. Buy some of those red cups (SOLO cups) for some beer pong. Get A LOT of ice to keep the kegs cold and make sure you just don't have beer buy a few bottles of alcohol too.

And ontop of everything else just make sure the party stays under control. If things get out of hand throw some people out and make sure everyone else stays quiet. Try to keep everybody inside unless they are smoking.

Alright I'm done, hope I helped...enjoy your party :)

Thanks for the reply!

Well... The thing about this house and where I live (rural Arkansas).

It's out in the country a little (not WAY out but...it's impossible to watch!), so I'm not worried about the po-po.

Me and a couple friends helping throw this thing plan on not drinking too much so we can keep order. And I've got some other people that would be down to kick some ass if it needs it.

As far as other alcohols go. What size bottles do you think I should go for? (we're aiming for anywhere from 50 to maybe 70 people there... think 2 kegs will suffice?)
I'm thinking as far as types to get some vodka, rum, tequila. Stuff like that.

Anyways! If ya got anything else, holla!

I've thrown two parties before, one of them with around 20 people, the other with around 50. Both times I originally planned to have only about 10 come over. So, the first thing I can say is that parties ALWAYS end up with more people than you expect. Just something to keep in mind.

I personally don't like throwing parties because you are the one that has to worry about cops, neighbors, spilled drinks, broken items, and stolen items. Yes, some people will steal stuff from parties if they don't know the person very well. I was at one a while ago where the girl had $300 worth of liquor stolen from her house. So make sure you don't have any of those douchebags at your party. Only people you trust, or people that come with people you trust. Though having stuff stolen shouldn't be a big concern if it's at an abandoned house.

From your description, it sounds like neighbors and cops shouldn't be much of a problem. However, the last outdoor party I went to, we thought the same thing, but we got f*cked over by the police. My biggest piece of advice for that is make sure that there is more than one way out of the area should you need to high-tail it from the cops. It's never a good situation where the only road away from the party is the same one that leads to it when the cops come. Then you're blocked in.

If you wanna make some money then charge everyone 5 bucks for an unlimited amount of beer (since you're buying kegs).

For music you're definitely gonna want mostly rap music. If you're not that into rap, find a friend that has a lot of rap CDs, or even better, an iPod with a lot of rap music on it. As for playing the music, you have a few options. Since it's at an abandoned house you probably won't have electricity there so you could get a boom box that is able to run on batteries. Depending on if the house is open-air or not (are all the doors and windows shut?) you could have someone with a nice sound system in their car play music from there.

Fill a cooler or two with water bottles for the DD's that go there. I've gone to outdoor parties before where I was DD and I was so damn thirsty, but I had nothing to drink cause all we had was beer.

SOLO cups, ping pong balls, and beer pong tables are a must. Another idea would be to have a table or two with a couple decks of cards so people can play games like Kings, Asshole, etc.

I wouldn't bother with buying liquor for other people. If people want any, they can bring their own. Though, on the other hand, you could make a pretty penny if you charge $1 a shot or something. I think that would be too much regulating to do though.

The party sounds awsome.
-Not in your house(**** would get broken, i promise)
-Parents out of town
-Nearest neighbor far away

The only reason it would suck is if you ran out of beer.... or didn't have any music. Make sure to invite lots of chicks.. have a blast...

if tis an abandoned house, you don't ahve tot ake credit for throwing ti if it gets busted.
suggestion: find a friend with a truck/jeep[preferably that they take off-roading] and have it parked, ready to dip-the-fvck-outta there in case cops come. if tis one-road outside the house, cop-cars ain't **** compared to a truck off-roading.

Make sure no one starts fighting or punches out your window. As people get drunk tempers start to flare. Besides that its simple, girls, music, good time. Dont get arrested.

As far as music. I have some friends that have effing huge sound systems (used for concerts) they they will loan us. We'll have a generator out there for lights and sound.

Water bottles... Hrm... Good idea!

Keeping control of a-holes ought not be too much of a hassle, I'm pretty connected as far as people able to handle folks that are outta control.

Me and my buddy are keeping this thing under wraps from the general public untill its a few days away from party time, but here soon we're gonna talk to some good friends of ours that know alot of people and would chip in. And we'll get 5 bucks or so per person as they come in.

Either way... The thing is about 3 weeks away, so plenty of prep time!
Thanks for all the response guys! I'll letcha know how stuff goes!!

Yeah, I would get 3 kegs for the amount of people you're having (50-70). One keg is the equivalent of 168 beers. If everyone has 8, that means a keg is good for 21 people. So, with getting three you should be good for around 60-70 people. Not everyone is gonna drink 8, and some people will probably drink more, so I'm using 8 as an average. If you only want to get two, tell the heavier drinkers to bring their own beer in case they need it.
