To be honest guys, up until recently i hated the idea of working. I didnt like having a boss, giving up my free time and, generally, being someone's b1tch.
Right now i just got out of college (2nd year) and back home for the summer. All of my friends are back to their fast food and retail jobs. I called my old summer job and found out that they were overstaffed. At first i panicked a little, and the constant "You need to get a job"reminder from my parents and friends wasnt helping.
So i kept on hearing "Drive by places saying "now hiring" and get the job. anywhere! Go to Mcdonalds!"
Haha, well i thought about that, and since i havent drank pop in about 6 months or ate fast food for that matter, i kicked that idea...
Then it hit me.
I should be embracing this instead of dreading it! Becuase i dont have that job that would take me back, i am FREE TO DO WHATEVER. I am free to pick what i like, to pick what can benefit me. So i looked at the news paper for stuff that interested me:
I couldnt believe it, the pages were full with cool jobs i'd love to have! Summer Beach Camp job.. Hell yeah! Texas Hold Em organizer job... hell yeah! Card Club dealer (at 15+ an hour) Rock on!
The thing is, there are plenty of sweet jobs out there. I realized that i got 4-5 years till i have to settle for a job becuase of the money it pays (after college) .. i wont be able to just choose whatever field i want anymore.. i will not be able to pick a job based on "How much pu$$y will i get here?" aspect..
Guys with crappy jobs, quit em! Who need to bend that back for $6 an hour... you could be having fun while getting paid more than that!
My last job was delivering pizza and all i can say, getting paid $15+ while delivering pizzas to a private college full of rich hot girls (who ask you to stay and party) could be considered a crime!
There are so many people out there who feel they have to settle for this crappy job just becuase there is nothing else out there...but the truth is, there is! i was getting paid 5.50 at Arbys at one job, and a month later was pulling $16 at an easier job while flirting with dozens of girls at the mall!
I need some insight from Bartenders here.. i know there are guys who can help out:
WHat is the best way to start bartending? I heard bartending schools suck and you should never mention them. I know that being a barback is the easiest bet.. where is relatively easy to get the job? Apple Bees or something like that?
Whoever got examples of sweet jobs they've had post em.. time to enjoy your job, after all, it is suppose to be fun!
