To be honest guys, up until recently i hated the idea of working. I didnt like having a boss, giving up my free time and, generally, being someone's b1tch.

Right now i just got out of college (2nd year) and back home for the summer. All of my friends are back to their fast food and retail jobs. I called my old summer job and found out that they were overstaffed. At first i panicked a little, and the constant "You need to get a job"reminder from my parents and friends wasnt helping.

So i kept on hearing "Drive by places saying "now hiring" and get the job. anywhere! Go to Mcdonalds!"

Haha, well i thought about that, and since i havent drank pop in about 6 months or ate fast food for that matter, i kicked that idea...

Then it hit me.

I should be embracing this instead of dreading it! Becuase i dont have that job that would take me back, i am FREE TO DO WHATEVER. I am free to pick what i like, to pick what can benefit me. So i looked at the news paper for stuff that interested me:

I couldnt believe it, the pages were full with cool jobs i'd love to have! Summer Beach Camp job.. Hell yeah! Texas Hold Em organizer job... hell yeah! Card Club dealer (at 15+ an hour) Rock on!

The thing is, there are plenty of sweet jobs out there. I realized that i got 4-5 years till i have to settle for a job becuase of the money it pays (after college) .. i wont be able to just choose whatever field i want anymore.. i will not be able to pick a job based on "How much pu$$y will i get here?" aspect..

Guys with crappy jobs, quit em! Who need to bend that back for $6 an hour... you could be having fun while getting paid more than that!

My last job was delivering pizza and all i can say, getting paid $15+ while delivering pizzas to a private college full of rich hot girls (who ask you to stay and party) could be considered a crime!

There are so many people out there who feel they have to settle for this crappy job just becuase there is nothing else out there...but the truth is, there is! i was getting paid 5.50 at Arbys at one job, and a month later was pulling $16 at an easier job while flirting with dozens of girls at the mall!

I need some insight from Bartenders here.. i know there are guys who can help out:

WHat is the best way to start bartending? I heard bartending schools suck and you should never mention them. I know that being a barback is the easiest bet.. where is relatively easy to get the job? Apple Bees or something like that?

Whoever got examples of sweet jobs they've had post em.. time to enjoy your job, after all, it is suppose to be fun!

I think everyone should do a low paid, boring, dirty and dameaning job early on in their career. The perspective it gives you is priceless.

All jobs suck unless your in upper management or doing something you have a passion for like teaching, medicine, cop, etc.

This is one of the main reasons I went to college and got a masters degree because I now work at a job I love in the field that I majored in, make a good salary and full benifits, and I prefer giving orders rather than taking them.

Having your own business is the way to go, isn't this the American way? I thought you guys were born with a business plan.

how about......window cleaner!

all you need to startup is a ladder, bucket and sponge

easy money, tips, and you get to peek inside everyones house.

do they have window cleaners in America?

some chap on here got a job handing out flyers on the street, he was getting paid to approach women.

I went from working for others, to working for myself.

Yes, there's drudgery and things I don't like but everytime a client hands me money for services rendered, I know it's mine to keep, minus the government's share.

Other than client demands, I make my own day as I see fit.

If I want to give myself a two hour lunch break between calls, I can do it.

If I want to work my butt off nonstop from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, I can do that, too
and any gradation in between.

There's a lot of fun, a lot of what I enjoy in what I do, and it keeps me going.

I used to be casual office assistant for a big company. One day the CEO comes to pay a visit. On the same day, several cleaners get sick and I get the job of toilet cleaning.

So while I'm scrubbing the **** off the toilets, the CEO comes in to take a whizz. He sees me scrubbing the urinals, then suddenly takes off his jacket, rolls up his sleeves, and helps me clean the rest of the toilets.

Told me he used to clean toilets when he was office assistant too.

The only thing I learned from doing those jobs is that i hate it and the ppl who i worked with.

I just got offered a more interesting job, but I have other obligations that might prevent me from accepting it.

Making the most of MY life
Wow, this post relates EXACTLY to me. Ive been working in a supermarket deli every saturday for the past 3-4 years. My parents made me get this job back then, and i hated it BAD. Im still kind of there, but im not working much. Im looking for a new job that i will actually enjoy, i see people giving out flyers and sh!t im like GIMME THAT JOB !:woo: I guess i just need to keep looking in the paper, but im sure most of these jobs get snapped up pretty quick.
