So right now I am working a seasonal job for extra cash at J Crew. I've worked in retail before and in restaurants as well. But I work solely in the woman's department.

Some things that I've noticed is just how much validation women carve. Now I knew that women want validation, just hop on facebook and it's evident. But they want it from anyone who might have higher value than me.

I've got women wanting me to comment on how they look in their outfits and making me the deciding factor of their purchase, even if their boyfriend or husband in there. One woman had me stay inside the dressing room for five minutes and watch her try out an outfit.

Another thing is that women are look at fashion the same way that we look at them. Meaning that most women have a romantic relationship with fashion. Men love women. Women love their shoes.

It's funny to see how many husbands and boyfriends get dragged to the store with them and are bored out of their minds as their women enter a wonderland of clothes, jewelry, and etc.

Retail is also a good way to practice if you will. I'm not there to "pick up" women so I just have fun with them. It's basically a warm approach (which are the best). I have value because I work there and flirting helps me make that sale. I basically do all the things that I'd do in an approach minus setting up a date and getting her number. I'll probably never do that, I like to be professional.

And of course, women are very self absorbed. It's a week before Christmas and the only women that are gift shopping are mothers. Everyone is shopping for themselves. Even then some mothers are. Only one or two young attractive women were actually gift shopping. They see that we got some sales and go wild.

So what should you take away from this? Don't take women seriously at all. They really are big kids. We just sometimes forget that.
