So here in Australia therapy costs around $200 an hour, so I instead of going i decided to just unload all my emotional baggage onto women i match with on OLD.

You would be surprised that most of them have no problem listening to me talk about all my problems, i just had an hour long rant about the state of the world and the modern dating market. The Chinese girl listened to all of it and even offered advice and input.

I feel a lot better doing this, it really just as good as real life therapy. It feels so good to talk about my problems instead of bottling it up. I'm amazed at how many girls seem to care about my problems.

Dude, maybe you should take a break from the internet. "Emotional baggage" and "bottling up your emotions" sounds like something a chick would say.

When men start "talking about their emotions" it reminds me of this scene

This can come back to bite you in the arse, OP.

Pay the money, hire a professional. Not only are they trained to coach you through problems but they must keep material confidential. The outside world will use your problems against you.

@Zimbabwe, I kind of see your need. I'd say with my life experience that it's understandable, I was kind of the same in your age. Older men are in a different situation.

I think your need is valid, but I think your solution has room for improvement because you're essentially training yourself to friend zone yourself with women. Not a good path to go down.

Arrange your life such that you have good male friends that you can talk to. I have that currently, and they're not gay. These men exists, I would say there are some here on SS, and surely in your city/cities too. I would put in an effort at mingling/networking to find good male friends. Have a social circle that is supportive and level you up.

It can be tricky to let the guard down. It doesn't have to be dramatic, like hugging Bob Got ***** Tits in Fight Club, lol. Many men have the same problems as all other men, and if they can't relate/discuss important topics they're not worth the time.

If you’re talking to her about your issues with the intent to bang this is counterproductive.

I've always found women more willing to sit and listen to my problems. I know I'm understandably going to get flak for this men should not be bottling up their emotions, there is no outlet to express yourself.

Sometimes you want to talk, but nobody wants to listen.

It's not like i complain about rhe globohomo elite, it's just the state of modern dating and how women are afraid of commitment. It honestly feels so good to just let it out in a rant and have someone actually listen to you.

But you are right i do eventually need a proper professional, as my current solution is only a band aid.

Most of those so-called “professional” therapists are completely useless and a waste of money. I say more power to the OP for finding a cheap way to entertain himself.

I know this problem too, and I think having it is a compliment to oneself. At my current sphere there is a lot of youngsters that I don't connect with. The way they talk, what they talk about, what interests them, what they understand does not match me. So what happens? I end up listening to them.

As a counter measure, I have this older professor where the relationship is the reverse. We on agreement talk solely about my life and my situation -- because I'm too young/inexperienced/off to be able to say anything useful about his situation. So in this relationship it is reversed. With some other friends it's more balanced, more in the traditional sense. Build your team.

So, I think one can find a hierarchy/order in who "nurtures" who, and I think that's natural and understandable. E.g., a dad doesn't/shouldn't expect his kid to understand his world.

If I had a dollar for every female friend or coworker who called me to vent…

Women have been doing this to men for years. It’s called friendzone.

All joking aside, I don’t mind lending an ear to family, friends and coworkers. My dad, brother, guy friend, and one female friend are decent at lending me an ear when I need it.
