Using the same tactics used by “gay” rights activists, pedophiles have begun to seek similar status arguing their desire for children is a sexual orientation no different than heterosexual or homosexuals.

Critics of the homosexual lifestyle have long claimed that once it became acceptable to identify homosexuality as simply an “alternative lifestyle” or sexual orientation, logically nothing would be off limits. “Gay” advocates have taken offense at such a position insisting this would never happen. However, psychiatrists are now beginning to advocate redefining pedophilia in the same way homosexuality was redefined several years ago.

In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. A group of psychiatrists with B4U-Act recently held a symposium proposing a new definition of pedophilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders of the APA.

B4U-Act calls pedophiles “minor-attracted people.” The organization’s website states its purpose is to, “help mental health professionals learn more about attraction to minors and to consider the effects of stereotyping, stigma and fear.”

In 1998 The APA issued a report claiming “that the ‘negative potential’ of adult sex with children was ‘overstated’ and that ‘the vast majority of both men and women reported no negative sexual effects from childhood sexual abuse experiences.”

Pedophilia has already been granted protected status by the Federal Government. The Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act lists “sexual orientation” as a protected class; however, it does not define the term.

I give it 18 years at the max, there is no limit when you say gay is ok. A lot of pedophiles are homosexuals. Jerry Sandusky, John Wayne Gacy, and Jefrey Dahmer for example.

People get softer, and softer to it and then they eventually say its normal. Opinions change over time, history shows that. The only hope is for the Supreme Court to reinstate the ban on gay marriage in a few years, since they decided to strike down the voting rights act(which I kinda agree with) after all these years. Once you say promoting the spread of aids is okay, you can't say no to any other fringe sexual orientation groups out there.

Speaking of pedophiles, did anyone hear about this dumbass? He was downloading child porn, and he got a popup that said "THIS IS THE FBI AND IF YOU DON'T PAY RIGHT NOW WE WILL ARREST YOU".

So what did the guy do? He drove to a police station WITH HIS COMPUTER, and asked them if he was being investigated for child porn. He handed over his computer and they found the porn, and arrested him and now he is facing 10 years.

I have no sympathy for the guy, but are people really this dumb? Turns out the popup was some sort of malware.

I have no idea why people are so damn concerned with what consenting adults do with their own civil liberties which harm no one else. You open the door to tyranny when you seek to strip people of their liberties.

It's logical in a sense that if you accept the flawed argument that sexuality is hard-wired from birth, you also have to accept that being a pedophile is no more morally abhorrent than being gay. If gays can't help being gay, then pedophiles certainly can't help being pedophiles either.

Here's how the slippery slope works. First, pedophiles demand that there be no stigma associated with pedophilia. They can't help being who they are, so why stigmatize them, right? Next, some "credible" zoologist will discover that pedophilia is not at all uncommon in the animal kingdom, which, of course, means that it's "natural" for humans too. Then, you will start getting a trickle of judicial decisions where judges are reluctant to impose harsh penalties on pedophiles. With time, these decision may become precedents.

In the past, pedophilia was widespread and socially accepted in many "civilized" societies. In ancient Greece and Rome, pederasty (i.e. sexual molestation of teenage boys by dirty old men) was not only legal but practically institutionalized. Pederasty was also very common in many islamic countries until quite recently, and is still practiced in some of them, as witnessed by NATO troops in Afghanistan.

Who's to say we could never slide back on the morality scale and end up living in a world where sodomizing young boys and marrying and deflowering nine-year-old girls (Prophet Mohammed-style) is considered normal?
