Is this an example of a girl trying to control the situation? How to counter?

So I was taking a break from my work and decided to check my messages on facebook. Saw this hottie I know is on facebook chat. So I start chatting with her, cracking some jokes. I finish the conversation with this:

Me: So g2g. Sat night, *bar name*?
HB: I work, but I'll call you when I'm done.
Me: Cool, see ya sat

I take it she's trying to control the situation (I've gotten different versions of this before, "I'll let ya know", "Need to check my schedule", etc). How you supposed to counter that? I personally don't care if this girl doesn't show, so I played it cool and just assumed she would show. But for future reference, ya know?

I'd say she is not interested ...I would just try to meet new females. Honestly there is nothing you can do when a woman gives you an answer like this. Just wait and see if she will indeed Contact you after work like she says.

When you two do go out, relax and have fun do not worry about trying to bag her.

don't see anything wrong with her answer-she may actually have to work. IF she calls, invite her down. Kind of like the saying"If she's fallen down the stairs and is crying,it's not a sh1t test;help her" Not everything is a test or an attempt at controling the frame. SH!T like work does get in the way.

sounds more like a freindly hang out by what you said...(but neither did you include the earlier convo leading up to it - so we cant tell very well either)

i usually dont do the whole facebook thing. its pretty lame. instead meet women in person. what i often do is try to plant seeds. i may not take the girl home that night, but ill pique her interest enough to where she will go out of her way to contact me. a couple weeks ago me and my friends were at a bar watching a buddys band play. i had never met this girl before, but my friend was talking to her, so i walk in and comment on something my friend said, something funny. she then chimes in and boom now im crackin jokes with her. i used to do the whole cheesy "hi my name is....whats your name" right off the bat. but ive found it more effective to establish comfort first. ill talk for about 3 minutes, then ill slide the "oh by the way im....." then ill walk away and find myself in her vicinity again. by the end of the night we were grinding on each other on the dancefloor, apparently the guy she was seeing was there that night so i guess he took her home lol. few days later, SHE hit ME up on facebook chat asking to hang out

the point im trying to make is stop hittin chicks up behind the scenes, i.e facebook myspace, that you havent met yet. its fn creepy IMO

oh, don't misunderstand. I know this girl, this isn't just some random I added on facebook (hell, most of the ppl I have on facebook are either friends or old co-workers/classmates). We've previously exchanged numbers and planned to hang out, don't plans got changed and we didn't.

why do you guys say my invite was weak? It's better than "we should hang out some time". I'm hitting up that bar with a bunch of ppl that night and thought she should come too. The conversation we had before I invited her wasn't very long, we talked briefly about how exams were before I started busting on her for very all her studying/projects for the last min. Then I had to get back to work and invited her for this wknd as a spur of the moment thing (I probably wouldn't have thought of inviting her if I didn't see her on, even though I have her number).

This situation sounds like standard affair to me. It was a quick invite. I do this all the time for girls. Don't look into it too deep and don't worry if she shows up or not. If you're going out, go out with the primary intention to go out and hit the social seen. You should invite more people to go as well. Work your social network and see if you can make some new contacts.

Regardless you're on the right track and don't worry too much about counter play. People flake it happens. If she shows she shows, if not then oh well. You've done everything you need to do here so don't put any additional unnecessary strain on your game.

Yeah I was planning on getting a few more people to come. Invited this girl who has a friend I kinda dig, maybe get a situation going where I'll get her number (everytime I see this girl she's always got some guy all over her who she's "dating", not probably the best time to go for the number lol). But no reason I can't get a few potential girls out there. I'm very much into the idea of spinning multiple plates, all I really want is to chill with some cool girl and get a little action, relationship not needed for that.
