Ive always been lean, not that skinny tho.. and at about 15 people started asking if i go to the gym, etc. since i was kind of ripped (think of brad pitt on fightclub...)

Lately im gonna try to put on some more muscle on, not too much tho, i dont really fancy being huge.. but i heard that if you do too much cardio you cant bulk up.. So the only cardio im doing now is surfing everyday and later downhill skateboarding..

So any1 knows if surfing will have an effect on my muscle gain (its like 1 and a half hours of that everday)

don't worry about it... surfing is hard work but not intense, steady-state cardio. just make sure you're getting enough calories & protein, and watch for signs of stalling on the weights. if you stall, try surfing a little less.

surfing is fine, it will tone your muscles (swimming) and make your muscles more defined.

I only wish I had a beach near me...I'd be even happier if this cold weather(-50 degrees celcius) would go away!

surfing isn't nearly as much calorie-burning of an activity than say, running. I used to surf in florida a bunch and I realized that if I wanted to get slimmer or bigger, I had to rely on other cardio options and lifting to do the job.

If you like surfing, then I think you should surf. Don't worry so much as what it'll do for you, if you like doing it, then do it. I personally like surfing, good workout, helps core development, endurance, and makes you swim better. And there are women at the beach, that I can look at while im waiting for waves.

It was ridiculously easy to work my game on the beach during a bunch of my surf sessions.

my college roommate was passionate about surfing...and honestly he never bragged about any of his sexual 'exploits' (he just wasn't that kind of guy) -- except the girls he picked up between high school & college while surfing. he was practically a different person when reminiscing about that stuff :D

in other words, chicks dig surfers.
