Personally I think contacts look better and am planning on switching soon, but I was curious to see the views of others.

What is better in terms of appearance?

I dress like the typical "prep" but I am automatically tagged with the "nerd" label. I suspect my glasses are a major reason for this, if not the entire reason.

Contacts because they don't limit your physical actions, plus it shows who you really are.

On certain people glasses look really good. Makes them look sophisticated and elegant. On others(and most) they should be replaced with contacts.

I look better with glasses, and receive compliments on my style. It just depends on the frame.

Eventually, when I am 20 yrs old I will get contact/lazer surgery. As of now, I am doing vision therapy and wearing glasses. I'm going to get new frames of the summer since I lost weight and my face is more squarish rather than round now.

Slow...VERY slow results. I've been doing it for like 3 months, but I am definitely seeing improvement. Plus my eyes feel better like there is "breathing space" if you know what I mean.

I'm going to do this and in the summer I am doing the weighted contact treatment method along with it. You gotta read the book like 10 times though lol. So that way youcan like memorize the techniques and do them whenver you have time. It's hard at first, but once you get into the habit, it is like your normal life. good luck.

I wear contacts. Glasses are ok, but my vision is so poor that I have to wear lenses thick as a brick. Makes me look like a cloudy-eyed douche-sack.

Here's the deal on me on two things with the laser deal and contacts vs. glasses.

Laser- DON'T DO IT!!! My one teacher had it done to him and they royally fvcked it up. He ended up settling out of court for extra problems but he has irrepairable damage to his eyes.

Contacts vs. glasses- There is strengths in both and weaknesses in both. I'm assuming your talking about for picking up girls.

I can do good in both of them (mine are avitor glasses so they are huge and awesome  ) I have picked up girls with both of glasses and contacts. i dislike contacts because it is a hassle getting them in, in the morning.

I actually believe that glasses are just better because you just put them on and you go. Plus for sports they transform into sun glasses for me to see much easier. That is why I play the sun field in the outfield ;)

BTW to the person who is put in the nerd category because they are wearing glasses. You got to be doing other things other then wearing glasses because I would have been put in the nerd category a long time ago but I'm not anywhere near that because of how many sports I play and how much I do with other people.

To Unregistered: I also have very thick glasses. Don't look like a douchebag though.

I have a pair of Nike Flexons (flexible frame) and they look pretty nice. However, my face used to be round cuz of fat and I had the rounded frame. Now I think a pair of rectangular frames would make me look older and more studious rather than "nerdy." Good stuff.

Hey man. I have THICK ASS glasses like half a centimeter thick on the side (not the whole lens lol). Anyways, I was wondering if I could still get contacts for such a strong ass prescription because I'm looking to change.

who cares
i have 20/40 vision which is not that bad, i only have problems seeing far away, so i dont really need glasses except for driving at night to be able to see street signs, so i think glasses are better. contacts take a while to put on and take out, and as long as your not considered a nerd, it could give you a more "sophisticated" look when you go to nice places.

I wore glasses for a few years until I switched to contacts.

I like contacts because you don't have to worry about getting an imprint on your face or on the side of your head. Plus, it's nice not having something on your face when you're doing some intense activities. Also, contacts help stabilize your vision; in other words, your eyesight won't get worse as quickly.

Just make sure that wherever you go, bring some eyedrops. Whenever you feel a discomfort in your eye, it comes in really handy.

Always keep your glasses.... just in case....

I have both. I think i look older and more mature when i wear glasses, so i wear them when i do replacement teaching so the kids think i'm older and respect me more:D

I always wear my contacts when dating or when i wanna look better. So each has its own advantages.

I've sometimes gone around and asked people I know which looks better. I currently have glasses and I've thought about getting contacts this summer (no lasers, the risk is low but what you can lose is a LOT, especially given my interests).

I would guess that slightly more than half said "no glasses," most of the rest said "it's about the same," and only ONE person said "glasses."

But of course I don't know if that'll make much difference. I sometimes think I look like a gargoyle either way, so I don't know if I want to do that or not.
