Is being Slightly Nervous "Cute" to some girls?

A few of my female friends have insistedly repeated numerous times that they would RATHER give their number to a guy who is slightly nervous rather than full-on confident.

Supposedly, being "slightly nervous" gives the impression of high interest levels, LINKED with honest intentions, etc.

The full-on confidence in a guy can portray to the girl that he is a player who has sociopathic characteristics. (hiding your real self, the nervous one, etc)

So..whats the deal? Obviously not all women are the same and thats why there are not really any rules that are set in stone....but i wouldnt be surprised if a lot of girls think this way.

That being said, the girls who told me this are pretty hot as well, so its not a UG type way of thinking.

To add my own thoughts..i would NEVER act or show my nervousness around a girl...Id like to hear some input on this, especially from any female posters.

Chicks are weird. Some would totally dig you being a bit nervous while some might see it as a sign a weakness. I think the smooth approach works better as you are making her comfortable. However, If the chick really likes you, then you could act just about any way you want and she'll like it.

I think that if a chick was a 9.0+ she would be slightly turned off by shyness because she gets hit on 24-7 especially by dirty old men.

Anyone below that would probably be a little more receptive to the shy thing...just a hypothesis.

Of course these are just general statements and every girl is going to be different in regards to each approach.

Good Post...it will be intersting to see what others say.

The short answer? "Yes"

The longer answer? "Yes and no."

The even longer answer? "Nnnggyeeeaah..."

Yes, it is cute. Will girls find said cute guys attractive and/or at all appropriate for a realationship (IE, "doing it")? Yes and no. Nnnggyeeeaah... I'm not so sure as to how long those cute guys will last; for they are just that: cute! Cuteness lasts so long as it's not eclipsed by Manhood. My 9-year-old cousin is cute, but will he always be able to score hot 2nd-grade tail with "Boogers are green"? No.

Eventually, that inital "cuteness" (shaky hands, etc.) needs to be shucked like oh-so-many ears of corn and true Manhood needs to shine through, lest Cuteness be rendered not so cute by the Fist of manhood.

In sum, I don't think too many girls (and certainly fewer mature girls) think that it's more attractive to have a boy be at his wits' end trying to talk to her.

Where these girls find this shyness attractive is in its flattery: they're entertained/happy that their beauty can render a guy flaccid, and sure they'll give him their number (their sexuality is more showing than this guy's: on a cosmic scale, they "win"). But, as I've said, what? three times already, those guys will most likely end up being very little more than a salve for these womens' egos.

PS: Since I get PMs and AIMs about what some of my subject headings mean, “Go gcreime na gráinneoga cealgrúnacha do chuid calóga arbhair” is Irish for “May the malevolent hedgehogs gnaw at your cornflakes.”

an even better answer is..what is the practicality of this question?

Is this an excuse to not work towards appearing confident?

Or are you too confident ..and want to tweak it abit and appear nervous..so chicks dig you more?

The level from slightly nervous to confident is so minute I doubt it would make any difference in your game.

The question I hear you asking is "Im slightly nervous when I talk to girls..should I put an effort to improve my confidence or stay at this level?"

alright.

To Clear things up, IMO, and experiance, there are times approaching for the close when i feel nervous, and my heartrate goes up, etc.

However, I do my best to NOT show her that i am nervous and to project my "confident" character. (IMO, if it aint there sometimes then fake it)

So when i hear that some girls like the slightly nervous thing better..it interests me, and makes me thing if i should change up the game a little..and to what extent?

Thats why im looking for some others thoughts..etc.

Its not really a cry for help, I'm pretty confident in my own game.

I dont know about this. I think it would...but it all depends on what she is attracted to.

Sure some women would find it "cute"..just like the way they find puppy dogs, and dresses "cute"

Its not a bad thing..but to me ..I'd rather be viewed as confident and self assured rather than "cute and slightly nervous"

to me that "slightly nervous" is ******** for "ohh Im so intimidating and gorgeous..this guy is nervous to talk to me..How CUTE!"

Ego trip

Exactly...I Agree 100%

But heres a Case in Point:

HB9 is from a big city...she lives in an apartment downtown and is approached by a guy who is very suave, appears to be very confident, and very direct in his mannerisms and approach.

2 seconds later she is approached by a guy who appears to be slightly flustere when talking to her, yet she can tell he is making a conscious effort to try. He stumbles a bit in his words, and makes a pathetic attempt at closing (Well if you were free...you know..perhaps we could meet for..).

Who does she give the number too? Its a big city, in todays society women are more on their guard than ever...i would say that there is a chance she could actually go with sorry choice B..when you think of all the other factors.

Something to think about.

Problem is, we all would love to come off as confident all the time, but that takes practice...However, during the practice period you're going to be slightly nervous.

Cute is a very powerful word. It can be said in many different ways.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

confident nervousness

I approached a couple hotties tonight, nervousness and all. They were nice to me, but I could tell by the way they were looking around, that they'd rather spend their time with someone else. Later on, I saw they were practically hanging on two dudes' arms....I guess boyfriends.

this is just theorizing as to what is actually going on in a woman's head..

she may have developed a "liking" cause she saw something remotely human and real in you, rather than a polished image of bvllsh1t that most 'confident' players have..

then again, if you're trying to make a system out of 'being nervous' that too will not be real , in the moment.. and will look mighty dumb if she detects you are actually trying to fake being slightly nervous .. lol.

if i'm nervous in that moment, its ok, and if i'm confident, even better.

This is a pretty interesting topic... I have an idea.

SLIKKER, try approaching 5 chicks, and appear not the least bit nervous at all

Then try 5 more and let yourself appear a little but nervous (but not to the point of being a wuss)

Make sure they are around the same number ranking on the beauty scale. Then bring back the results.

No, nervousness isn't generally good, people watch too many Hugh Grant movies.

Any chick you can get acting nervous you can also get being confident, and if you can't then so what! You're still better off being confident.

Don't act chumpy for any girl, besides it's just puts you in a position of inferiority, like you've already got her up on a pedestal - "oh my god I'm talking to this goddess" it's like whatever, she's just a girl for Pete's sake!

Most girls want a man, someone who can take charge! So do that! it's far better!

love shy guys

i personally prefer the slight nervousness, especially when the guy has nothing to be worried about. A guy who is hot, sexy, charming, sweet, and he is nervous about approaching me!? This would make me think that he really is interested for one, for two, really interested in me specifically. there was a guy once who i really like because of this exactly. i really liked him because of that shyness/hotness.

was so sad when he disappeared...

guess he was in the "put out in 3 dates or less" camp...

i know tootsie is just a joke, but nevertheless i will say that i had all kinds of nasty little fantasies about putting it on that shy guy...

who, um...was a black guy, btw...

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.
