Has anyone done or doing this? What are your thoughts?

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces.
Invisalign uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth
without metal wires or brackets.
Invisalign has been proven effective in clinical research and in orthodontic
practices nationwide. In fact, over 70% of all U.S. orthodontists are certified
to treat patients with Invisalign.

How Does Invisalign Work?
You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat,
drink, brush, and floss.
As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move -
little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final
position your orthodontist or dentist has prescribed.
You'll visit your orthodontist or dentist about once every 6 weeks to ensure
that your treatment is progressing as planned.
Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners
worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to
case.

I'm thinking about doing this in the future my teeth are great but I want them perfect :D ...teeth are very important IMO and i'm always looking to improve myself. It's very expensive here in Australia I went for a consultation and even my though my case is minor and treatment time will be less i'll still going to be paying $6000+...

You can't always do them. I have a strong jaw. (it doen't show now but it might in a few years.) SO I can't do them. They work the same as braces. I've known people who use them. I havn't heard any real complaints.

I used invisalign. Before getting them I went to another dentist who suggested I get braces that I'd have on for at least 2 years and it was possible that my jaw would have to be broken to get my bite correct. They were going to cost about 6k. Then I went to another dentist that specialized in invisalign. They cost me less than 5k, I had them on for 8 months and could remove them if they ever got uncomfortable or if I had a date etc (in fact most of the time I would only wear them when I slept but you're not supposed to do that). When I did wear them people would rarely notice them - some of my friends and coworkers didn't even see them until I told them a month into it. Now my teeth look perfect and I've even been able to use them as bleaching trays.

Thats great that you're treatment went so well when I first read about it I thought it was to good to be true but lot's of people are having great results! Shiftkey how bad were you're teeth? my problem is the two teeth either side of my front ones are slightly angled in-front of my front two teeth it's very minor but what do you think the treatment time would be on my case if you could estimate?

It is amazing how common this is. I'm also looking into invisalign but at this point my family can't afford any type of teeth care for me.

Danny Zuko, I had the opposite problem. One of my side teeth was pushed back slightly. Not being able to see your teeth, not to mention not being a dentist lol, makes it difficult to estimate how long it would take your treatment. But I can't imagin it taking you longer than 6 months to a year if your problem is minor like you discribe. You should at least get an estimate from a denist. It's free to do so and the invisalign website lists qualified dentists.

Seveneleven, there are payment plans for 1-2 hundred a month. You might even be able to get a loan from a bank for an even better rate. This should be easily covered if you picked up a part time job. No need to make your parents pay for it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Seems like some good feedback overall also from some other forums. Will probably do it now just not "always"wear them though otherwise how am I gonna make out and stuff on saturday nights.

The fact they really are nearly invisible and some of you saying no one knew till you told them is really good.

I got them last week. I have 42 aligners in the series. My teeth are not that bad but I do have a bit of a vampire teeth thing happening.

I have been wearing the aligners but If Im at work for important meetings or going out to clubs on the weekend I dont have them on. Probably about 8 hours a day with them off.

The dentist said to have them on 24/7 unless eating or drinking hot liquids. But One thing that does annoy me is the "buttons" / attachments they attach to your teeth. I was told after 3 months id notice a lot of gaps closing but i think after a year maybe ill just stop them and not go through the whole 42 or whatever they have in the series.

I need to be able to kiss gals and those buttons aint good. Hope this helps anyone that may be looking into it.

Any feedback welcome
