Munchking
Don Juan
First, meet the main character...
I'm 16.5, in 11th grade at a boarding school in the US. I'm on the short and thin side but still growing, brown hair and brown/green eyes, and I don't have much acne trouble. I also have an odd accent -- I have no idea where it comes from, nobody else in my family has it -- and a lot of girls comment about it when they meet me.I run on the cross country team, and I'm a bit of an intellectual in the sense that I like to read a lot, but I'm also interested in artsy stuff (quoth Albert Einstein: "Imagination is more important than knowledge."). I also act in student-run plays.
However, I have never kissed a girl or been on a date or anything.
Now, the situation...
So there's this girl, in 10th grade, we'll call her Mika. She's quite attractive (I'd say maybe an 8), has a great sense of humor, and just fun to be around. I have one friend, call him James. He has another friend, call him Alex. Over the past few weeks, I've hung out a few times with all three of them (Mika and Alex have been good friends for a while), and recently Mika and I began to flirt a bit. Then, a few days ago, I heard that Mika and Alex were actually "a couple" now.At dinner on Sunday, I sat with Alex and Mika. They told me to come to the auditions for student-run plays (which were later that night), and then Mika smiles and asks me if I'll be her audition partner -- to which I reply "NO" with a huge grin, we both laugh, and then I start to chat with some girls at the next table.
To make a long story short: after some more C&F/teasing, she was basically begging for me to come audition with her, and I told her maybe.
I went back to my room, showered, etc, killed time for half an hour, and headed over to the theater. She arrived late and sneaked up behind me and began to play with my hair. Then we went to the auditions.
We both began flirting at about the same time -- I don't remember who started it. For several of the auditions we were acting couples, and when the occasion called for it I didn't hesitate to kino a bit, it all seemed very natural. Also, whenever a director would say something like "OK, so you'll be bob, and you'll be his girlfriend jane" I'd just cut in with "You wish you were my girlfriend" and she would laugh so hard.
Well, at the end of the auditions I thanked her and said goodnight -- a "mystery close", because I know that I'll see her again soon. But when I got back to my dorm, I started wondering... was I doing the right thing? She was responding positively when I flirted with her... but according to my friend James (mutual friend of me and Alex), she has a boyfriend. So right now, I'm at a bit of a loss of what to do. I could:
- Be evil and try to break them up -- but I don't want to do this, obviously.
- Keep flirting, but before anything (i.e. anything physical) happens, tell her that I'm not prepared to do this behind her boyfriend's back. If she wants to do anything with me, she'd better break up with him, or just leave me alone.
- Or I could just remove her from my life entirely. I'm not sure I want to do this though, because I think I have a decent chance with her.
Any specific thoughts?
