I tend to spend time where attractive women spend time. I spend time at bougie standalone fitness studios, my gym and its classes, and bars where attractive women tend to be. I don't see a lot of fat women where I spend time.

It's a fact marriage rates are at historic lows. It's also a fact, birth rates are low.. I think at the lowest (not even at replacement rate). The probability is high, your sister's friend is just being used (in the west, a lot of men don't mind groveling for sex, unlike in other cultures that would just rather pay hot women for sex instead of prostrating themselves; saves time so they can do other stuff).

I don't care if other men decide to grovel for sex. Not my monkey, not my circus. If a man wants to grovel a plus sized girl for it... you be you, I just don't care. It's low self-esteem simple and plain, I used to work out with an Amateur bodybuilder who wanted to go pro. This guy was buff and very disciplined but he dated some of the nastiest fattest women around(300+ pounds). He said he liked them big. He said he didn't wanna deal with hot women and their high demands. I instantly chalked it off as ok either he's getting money from these chicks or he's got low self-esteem. Yup It was the latter. I remember in 2015 I went to LA and hooked up with this cutie. When I came back I was showing him pics and I could tell he was getting jealous. Forum was much different

-Tons of guys motivated who actually went out and wrote field reports and journals(a few posted pictures myself included, one guy used to record his conversations with a recorder and this was for free which was dope, it would be considered weird now), you had guys who even met up with each other so that way you knew if a poster was legit or not. I myself have met a dozen guys of this site from 2008-2014
-Incels and whiners were called out asap and roasted because back then it was a culture about action only the old guys got passes on theories
Like @Plinco says the attidude was more "can do" instead of men whining, guys really were hungry to succeed and not just with women but at the gym, career as well etc.
-Higher caliber of average poster due to intelligence who were able to bring something new to the table instead of the red pill stuff you see everyone reciting, it seems like every year there was a new "idea" or breakthrough. You also have to remember when I first came social media, text game, etc wasn't what it was now so the "breakthroughs" half of those ideas are probably outdated now.

On the flip side, these forums were also filled with PUA nonsense, bad advice and downright scams. Anything from "Mystery Method" and David DeAngelo to "bootcamps" and "sarging" to pseudoscientific crap like NLP. Back then, many people had a very naive view of what constitutes "game". It was seen as essentially a set of gimmicks that one could learn from reading e-books and listening to lectures. People were trying to figure out perfect one-liners and "negs". Yes, there was a "can do" attitude but it was largely driven by scammers trying to sell their PUA materials to clueless, lonely men. It was all about quick solutions as opposed to self-improvement. Much of the negativity that came later was a direct result of disappointment with PUA.
