my gains havent been as ive hoped, strength is increasing, but weight has barely changed if at all. ive followed rippetoe and ellis advice so my routine is solid, and eat every 2.5 hrs or so, including 2 weight gainer shakes (1k cal, 55g protein), so i dont think a lack of food is my problem.

since ive been consuming this much, i regularly wake up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom. in a 9-hour night, i usually get up around hour 5, and fall back to sleep around hour 6.5. i tried eating after getting up a few times, but couldnt fall back asleep. i usually get around 7 hrs of segmented sleep in a 9 hour night.

the only idea ive come up with is to not eat or drink anything an hour or two before going to bed, but that goes against virtually all advice ive heard.

any ideas? bodybuilding.com articles are full of 'must-have!' supplements that seemingly heal everything from broken legs to itchy pubes, id rather not go that route.

waking up at night happens to me too. Although I go back to sleep pretty fast.

My gains have been alright.

Some body builders get up at night just eat and break that fasting.

everyone is different.. for me eating a big meal right before bed and then a dose of GABA has me sleeping like a baby (and snoring like a hog according to the missus).
