So what are your opinions on dreams? Do they have significance? Are they just babble or do they have hidden meaning or forewarnings?

I keep having reoccuring dreams in which I have superpowers or kicking peoples asses, or saving people. Lets see the last 7 dreams or so. Last night I had the powers of superman and telekenisis to hide a bag of cocaine away from the feds (and Superman was there too hanging out with me, he got weakened by kryptonite when he was near the Fed's Kryptonite fueled cars but I didn't get weakened and still had superpowers.

Then I beat some roidheads ass I know 2 nights ago, fought Arnold Schwartzenagger decked out in predator uniform, saved people from a falling elevator, has dreams of flying, being able to miss getting shot at for long periods of time.

Am I going to have superpowers soon or something? Anyway haha

You're lucky having dreams like this

i only really remember the nightmares that wake me up, like being stalked, getting killed etc, also going into exams unprepared.

don't know what it means though and i'm not so concerned. What i am concerned about, however, is the fact that i don't have really exciting comic-like dreams like yours jvesti

a little info on dreams:

according to tony buzan and a lot of research, the more you remember your dreams, the more creative, imaginative, intelligent, more humorous and more motivated.

the way to remember dreams: before going to sleep, set your mind in a state to remember dreams by repeating to yourself "i will remember my dream, i will remember my dream". This process is apparently infallible, so keep doing it and you will remember your dreams and get the benefits i listed above

Jvesti -

Nice. :D According to gav's info, you could be a successful entrepreneur. Most entrepreneur-to-be do not even have self-confidence and belief that their company will succeed let alone have dreams as big as "I OWN EVERYBODY!!"

:D I used to have dreams like that when I was younger with business. It felt like Donald Trump and Bill Gate is MY *****.

Dear Jvesti,

Dreams are mostly our most intimate desires or our most dreaded fears and anything in between. The way they manifest themselves is very personal and so is the way to interpert them.

The best way to understand your dreams to understand yourself and have a significant and balanced amount of introspection. That would help you understand your dreams. I do think dreams are very important to read. They can enable gain an understanding where you stand emotionally on a day to day basis. Stresses and joys of the day before all play a big role in stirring some dreams over others.

Personally, sometimes, a certain dream can put me in a bad mood for most of the day, and another can make me feel much better about it.

Sincerely,

Nour

I read somewhere that one of the functions of dreams was to "defrag" your brain (like a computer).

I have textbook freudian dreams - I only get them when there is something traumatic happening in my life. They always have crystal-clear meanings and I take them seriously.

The most memorable dream was during my AFC days, and I was tearing myself apart over this one girl, and was contemplating just cutting off all contact cuz' I was so disapointed with myself.

In my dream, we were on a date and I caught her making out with some other guy and laughing at me - then they took off in the dudes car and I followed them hollywood car-chase style. When I rounded a blind corner, I found their car wrecked, the guy was dead but my girl was still alive.

I was holding her in my arms, and at that precise moment I smelled leaking gas, I knew the car was going to explode - I had 2 options: I could attempt to save her and perhaps be killed myself, or I could leave her for dead and live.

I dropped her and bolted. Then I woke up.

I took that as a HUGE sub-concious sign, and acted on it. I decided to break up with her, and haven't regreted it since.

aww, u didn't burn her?

heh. it's good that your dreams guide you

maybe i'm not getting dreams of that clarity and intensity because i'm not having much pain or pleasure in my life just now

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

It's not really a set thing - I'm sure it varies from person to person. The way you sleep can effect your dreams as well. Or more precisely; your mental state before you sleep.

If your mind is fixated on something right before you hit the sack, your likely to dream about it. Try experimenting with your thoughts before you sleep.

Man I have another crazy dream again well actually 2 last night.

Dream 1 - I was taking a cab to the airport when all of a sudden I come to find out the two dudes in the front were Russian Terrorists. They were probably gonna take me to the airport and use me and my brother as hostages, that's my guess. They got my brother unconscious in the car but I was conscious so they parked the car in a dark parking lot. Proceeded to get out where there was going to be a physical confrontation the two of them. Then I woke up, I was pissed! I was about to kick some terrorist ass and save my brother.

Dream 2 - I went back to bed then I had a dream I ran into a dude who I used to have trouble with back in high school. He challenged me to a fight. This time he was about 600lbs-900lbs in size. He was very tough to throw around but i kicked his ass for the most. Then I woke up.

All my dreams, are these sagas where I am the hero. THey always have a physical fight theme. Although somes they use weapons to go after me.

How is that? I am exhibiting superhuman strength in all these fights and I am saving people.

I believe dreams are the unconscious answers to our conscious questions and glimpses of what is to be. In terms of the first, the unconscious deals a lot in metaphor and symbolism, so you can think of the content and context of the dream being some form of Subconscious code. I have actually had quite a bit of success interpreting them (call it a Pisces thing), with accuracy increasing with amount of detail (and hence context and nuance).

I used to have a female friend of mine who wrote to me one day of a dream she had and I not only unravelled it, but I was able to interpret details which she forgot to mention and provide greater context. I think a large part of this had to do with my familiarity with the subject though.

Lo Hung, I might have done exactly the opposite, depending entirely on whether or not she was wearing her seat-belt or was otherwise pinned in the car. Its obvious she was very likely going to find another guy and pair with him for a while (or you were at least inclined to believe) and the tone and length of the chase would provide the context to your attitude regarding it.

After the car (her relationship with her new guy, which was probably based on prospects for her own advancement) crashes, the other man becomes a non-entity in your life, but she still is leading me to believe there were still some feelings for her, reflected in the intensity of how close she was to physically dying. But then, once you meet back up with her you realise the possible danger of the situation. Here is where our personalities digress.

You sense the danger to your person by keeping her as an entity in your life. So in order to protect yourself form said danger, you bounce. Now, the way I would personally look at it is that she not only shares that future danger, but also shares past damage from the crash-as-break-up, and depending on whether I could extract her from the wreckage in an expedited fashion in the relative time frame. How attached was she still to that relationship would represent how easy it would be for her to extract her from the harmful remnants of the failed relationship and begin to heal the damage done which naturally depends entirely on how attached she was in the beginning and the circumstances of the break-up represented by the seat belt or other limiting factors. If she could not be extracted in a satisfactory manner and seemed to be doomed to her own self-destruction, then I would do as you did and not think of her again.

But this could just be because I prefer keeping exes in the friend zone.

On the second aspect, I have seen images sometimes lasting five to ten seconds vivid with color and sound, but which seemed not to have any discernable context or symbolism, but in future instances I saw directly the same scenarios I had previously envisioned play out specifically as I had envisioned them down to the scrap of paper on the floor, or the font of the writing on the banner on the wall. I cannot even begin to fathom the subconscious motive or mo here, but then I typically wait and see if things play out as they will.
