I read that gram for gram, madagascar hissing ****roaches(widely eaten in the 3rd world) have 4x the protein of chicken. Bugs are low in fat and what they have is similar to fish fat with Omega 3 and is considered healthy. They have lots of vitamins and are an extremely efficient source of protein with little impact on the environment when you consider the environmental costs of what it takes to raise a pound of beef vs a pound of insects. And on top of that, they are dirt cheap.
I couldn't imagine eating them, but when you look at it on paper, insects SHOULD actually be one of the main food sources of body builders, more than eggs, fish, chicken or beef.. Not that I'm going to try it!
