I had a pretty serious accident not too long ago, it doesn't have to do with working out, but it's a health and fitness issue. Anyways, long story short, my lower right leg is busted, both the tibia and fibula were physically broken and I had surgery to have my leg realigned correctly. Now, my doctor tells me I can't bear any form of weight on the leg for at least 2 months, more likely 3 ; and I've seen the x-rays, and I'd have to agree to his prognosis, my leg is ****ed. My question becomes, what can I do to speed up the healing process? It's been a little more than 3 weeks now since the accident, and I'm recovering nicely, but it's a slow and painful process, and any hint or medication or vitamin or supplement to help would be a welcome addition to my diet and schedule! Does anybody have any idea on what would work for bone fractures?

(for those in the know of fractures, my tibia's got a spiral fracture, I have a plate and 9 screws to hold it all together; and my fibula's got nothing holding it but it's broken in 3 pieces: one major coming from the knee, another major coming from the ankle, and a smaller chipped off piece in the middle where the two big ones are supposed to be attached.)

The most important thing in this situation is to rest. Your only 19, your in your prime so the healing process should not be that long.

The most important thing you could do for this injury is REST, and having a healthy mindset. I don't think there is no vitamin or mineral in the world that can speed up the healing process.

BTW don't rush back into heavy lifting, running or contact sports because you don't want to reaggravate the injury.
