I've started to try and get into (relatively) good cardiovascular shape, but the last few times i've ran i've had my stomach hurt afterwards. Im not really sure what this is as I think I'm doing all of the proper stretches before I set off for my run. Any input would be appreciated.

Do you eat a big meal before you run?

Are you breathing overly hard during the run?

Running can be pretty hard on your digestive track (google "runner's trots"). All the jostling stirs things up, which is most likely the cause of your indigestion.

I've run a couple of marathons and eventually had to curtail my running because I'd experience stomach pains anytime I ran. Not saying that this will happen to you of course...that's a worst case scenario.

Make sure you're hydrated before, during, and after the run. Avoid spicy and acidic foods a couple of hours before. That should help.

Do you mean CRAMPS?

Try breathing on your opposite foot when you touch the ground.

Also avoid foods that take a long time to digest.
