Hi guys, I know that all of us here hold a variety of jobs and would really appreciate some help here.

I'm only in my teens, but am very interested to start making some money. Recently, I found a cool new small fashion label that I'm interested in bringing in.

I'm pretty confident in marketing it to the shoppers, however I'm not sure how to:
- Convince the brand for me to have the sole distributership in my Country
and
- How to convince shops in my Country to carry them.

Anyone has any kind of experience in something like that or can make a good guess? Help is really appreciated.

Does anyone also know how much I need to cough out in the beginning, do I need to bring in their entire range?

Thanks!

find the shop, walk in with the product, find the menager, ask him what he thinks of the product, he will give you an honest answer and your chances of suceeding, get his head office location, go there and do the same......might wana do that before you get into a contract with the suplier.

Hi spider_007, thanks for the fast reponse (as you can imagine, I'm pretty excited at my new venture :D )

Hmm, do you mean the sole distributership contracts usually only last for a short period? Which is even if I do introduce their product well, some time later, it's a free market?

Thanks for tip on approaching both levels of a shop! :)

honestly, the closest I got to retail, was working as a stock clerk in a grosery store:p :D , however while working there A guy came to my menager with an idea for a computer advertising display on the shelfs. He and the menager hamerd it out for a bit, (the good and bed) and he walked out with a honest responce to his product, and a address to the head office. Menagers know what they are doing (usually) because they got to sell the stuff, bring a sample and ask what he thinks.

as for the suplier; Just think, if your a small brand trying to break into new market any little thing will help. I don't think they will wana give you a "sole distributership", because they are hoping somebody bigger will pick them up (in the same market) like; wallmart, sears......They might give you a contract but only for a few years, after that, they might just say; "just by the stuff, like every other distributor". Only big brands like wallmart can demand things like that (large quanity sold). They can also demand that the supplier walk upside down- backwords, while jerking himself off- and still get awaywith it.

don't take me too seriosly, there are people on this board that are in the buissnes, i'm not.
