Woke up this morning and i couldn't move my neck to the left!

I get quite a sharp pain when i move it, and it feels as though something in my neck is pulling it back.

Any suggestions on how to fix it? I've taken a muscle relaxant.

Your probally slept on it wrong, same thing happens to me too sometimes.
Mine usually goes away after a few hours, You could try to apply a hot/cold patch to help.

If the pain is really bad then i'd suggest going to your doctor to check it out.

its happened to me a couple times... itll go away in 2 or 3 days, just keep it warm and slowly stretch it frequently

It happens from time to time. As Quik said, stretching helps out some. I read in Men's Health that weightlifting can increase the odds of neck pain by 80%.

how do you sleep?

on your back or front, you need a fairly soft/thin pillow. on your side you need a pillow that keeps your neck in alignment with your spine.

wait for it to recur, though, before you panic.

Take a small towel, fill it up with water and squeez the water out so its damp but not dripping wet. Put it in the microwave until its warm/hot, then put like 1/2 cup up olive oil in the microwave until its warm/hot, apply it to the towel then apply the hot towel to your neck, its awesome and it worked for me. Grandmas recipe :)

Also, in the future be careful of doing overzealous push-ups. No warm ups before them and you could again strain your neck.

I usally sleep on my side.

I was comparing both sides of my neck, and at the top on my left side, it feels like a rock, whereas the right feels soft and squidgy in the same spot.

doesn't have seem to have gotten any better, think it might have gotten worse, i cant even look down anymore.
