I've been writing stories for some time now and recently i began writing a very interesting piece. All of my reader's so far have enjoyed it thoroughly but it's still a work in progress. I was thinking about making a blog out of it with weekly releases while using google adsense to make money. Anyone have of thought's or advice they can give on this idea.

negative or positive information as long as its truthful is appreciated.

What I've found that works for me is using your blog for something that you genuinely enjoy. If writing is something that you genuinely enjoy, go ahead and start one up.

Not sure how you'd get readers though. I get most of mine through my Youtube account.

i guess i'd just start by posting it on my facebook and advertising through my friends. Maybe i'll just do it for fun.

If you want to learn more about google adsense just search for it on google.

You can also try one of the many article marketing sites. You can post articles in any number of topics. That way you can kind of gauge the number of views each article gets, what kinds of things people like to read. A lot of people use that to drive traffic to their blogs. http://www.Ezinearticles.com is probably one of the biggest. If you google "article marketing" you'll get plenty of other ideas.

I've seen people posting short stories, or several stories in a series. I think the word length has to be between 250 and 2000 words.

Keep in mind it can take a few months to develop a following, so patience and consistency are essential.

Most people don't realize that lack of patience and a consistent, day after day effort is what thwarts the careers of most wanna-be writers, not lack of talent.

There are a lot of wildly successful writers out there whose writing is utterly crap, but because they've been putting their stuff out on a regular basis, they get the breaks.

Get started, and keep at it regardless of whatever anybody says.

ya that's why i feel for my story if i want it to be consistently released im going to write out as much as i can so i can release weekly. This way while im releasing it slowly i can still work on its progress.

Thanks for the tip, will look into the site.

I submitted my article for review and i guess since it was a fictional story when they started the review process of the article they said it was not informative enough. It's hard to make a fictional story informative. I guess it does have informative moral views in there.

Anyone have idea's how to make a fictional story informative to the general public?

You've got your head warped. People read stories for fun - you know this. Then you got your head wrapped around marketing your blog and getting money from it, and now you're wondering how your story can get more hits from people who are looking for information?

Write a story. Spread the word. Those that want to read it, will. Don't market your crap as something it isn't just to get more "hits" because there's enough marketed crap out there. The whole point of a story being written on someone's blog is the fact that it's unfiltered, unmarketed, and the author is in 100% creative control. Take advantage of that freedom to make a good story, not a marketable and "informative" one.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

my head isn't really warped around marketing. I submitted the piece i wrote for review because i wanted to see if people enjoyed it since people would actually come across the site since it is high traffic. i've shown it to a few friends and all have enjoyed it thoroughly but most of them are not avid reader, some don't even read at all anymore. I wanted to get the opinion/feedback from a population of real readers. Mainly i want people to enjoy the reading since that's what i'm writing it for, so getting it reviewed by this site would give me a heads up on the quality im presenting.

I'm a college student and even if i spread the word not many people will read it. Some of my friends i have to coerce into reading since i require feedback as a new inexperienced writer.
