My daughter works at the movie theatre and they're doing a free preview for the employees and family members in an hour.

Who's jealous?

I just got home from seeing Harry Potter Goblet of Fire. I haven't read the book, but my daughter has. She said they left out a lot in the beginning and towards the end and changed a few minor details around. The movie was good, but since I kept hearing the 4th book was the best of all of them I was expecting it to be a bit better. It's still well worth seeing, but as with most movies made from books, my daughter said the book is much better. She said the Yule Ball and Voldemort were portrayed exactly as she pictured them from the book, though.

In the previews there was a clip of a movie about penguins that was freaking hilarious. Everyone will enjoy that. The movie doesn't come out for quite awhile, though...but I'll be watching for it.

I heard that one of the reasons the new movie is rated PG-13 is due to the amount of adult men who will be there seeing the movie by themselves...

lol...could be.

It's definitely worth seeing and a good movie. At the same time, anyone who has read the book might be a bit disappointed by how much they left out at the beginning and in the maze. Those were the parts my daughter said they really left a lot out of. The movie was still almost 3 hours long, though. Draco is hardly in this one at all. The underwater scenes are cool and the mermaids are freaky looking. Oh...and Moaning Myrtle and Harry have a bathroom scene that is hilarious.

Watch for the Happy Feet preview before the movie...it's funny. I think most theatres are starting showing it at midnight tonight, too.

I'm 39 years old and find it very difficult to sit through most movies without getting bored. I have never had that with any of the Harry Potter movies. I own the first three and will own all of them. No, Harry Potter isn't just for kids. The books are good and so are the movies. JK Rowlings isn't a particularly great writer, but she's a phenomenal story teller. The movies do a very good job portraying the imagery you get from the book.

You should definitely see this movie, but go rent the first 3 and watch them first. Although each of the movies tell their own story, you really do need to see them in the order they came out to follow the larger plot of the series.

I actually went to see it for the midnight showing with my g/f and one of her female friends... I had work at 8am the next morning (today), and thought it would only take an hour and a half - like most movies. I was wrong. At around 1:30 I was like "nothing has even HAPPENED yet"... then by 3am it was over. A 3 hour movie.

Admittedly, it wasn't bad, and the special effects at times were slick, but even though I haven't read the books (I've seen the other 3 movies either on the big screen or DVD) I have to say that the movie itself wasn't that great. On a high school grading scale I'd give it a B-.

Oh yeah, I really did expect that ghost chick to go down on Harry Potter in the sauna... after all, she was diving around everywhere else...

I think the issue with this HP movie is that the book was SO long and had so much in it that they had too much to condense for a movie. I think if they had of split the book in two and make two movies from that one it would have turned out better.
