I remembered seeing on TV a commercial bout this IGIA product that supposedly helped reduce pimples and blemishes. Anybody had any experience with this? I read a review on epinions, he said it works, buit not instantaneously, but it defnitely reduces the time the blemish stays...

If you want to lose your acne you should see a dermatologist, period.

The thing that's made the biggest difference for me personally is using a liberal amount of prescription grade benzoyl peroxide twice a day that my dermatologist prescribed (the brand I'm using is called Triaz). Liberal as in a 3 inch line of it squeezed out of the tube. I also use an electric razor instead of a straight edge because it irritates my skin much less.

Before I started doing this (which was only a month ago) I took antibiotics. It treated my acne pretty well, but I still had some subtle redness that looked like acne scars. I would also use benzoyl peroxide sparingly, which did absolutely nothing. A week after I started using tons of it, it's almost like I never had acne. Redness gone and everything. I might get a single pimple that dissapears in a day, but that's it.

I have also tried Accutane, which worked while I was on it but had tons of bad side effects. And I tried Proactive and other commercial cleansers that only work a little and only for a short amount of time before a tolerance is built.

the thign is my acne isnt super serious like some ppl i've seen, its just visible and is an annoyance, not sure if perscriptions would be overkill for it.

Anybody also felt this before? Like it wasnt harsh acne but still there?

IGIA products have always been utter s**t. I never bought any of their half-assed products but I know a friend who got this spray and it can take off your hair by wiping it. It burned his scalp badly and barely any of it came off. He already had a shaved head keep in mind. Plus when normal products cost $100+ and they're selling it for $19.95 you know its s**t.

Go to a dermatologist.

I don't have severe acne either (at least I haven't for a few years). It's usually pretty mild. The description of the stuff I have says it's for "mild to moderate acne" despite it being prescription.

I purposely overkill my acne because I want it gone so bad. At 17 females will understand a little acne. But by the time you're 20 you're "supposed to" grow out of it. IMO when I have acne it's the biggest obsticle I have. Prescription stuff is generally better quallity too.

Go to a dermatologist and tell him/her that you don't want to go on accutane or antibiotics, you just want topical stuff. They'll give you BS about how that usually doesn't work, but take it with a grain of salt because they get money for prescribing more stuff. AFTER you've tried topical stuff and it doesn't work, then you might consider antibiotics - there aren't really any side effects for antibiotics. I strongly suggest never going on accutane however.
