If Facebook was gone forever from this moment on. Would there be an increase of people in need of psychiatric assistance? Would the loss of constant attention and audience of 'fans' possibly drive many people over the edge?

There would be a overwhelming number of girls deprived of their ego feeding attention and they would probably need some guy again.

Not sure if the old "sex buys attention" rule would still apply but sure it would be much easier and less annoying for us to score them.

The ones suffering the most would be the average girls, deprived from support from their orbiters and their female friends.
Uglies would restart selling themselves to any man for some attention while the hot ones more or the less get plenty in real life despite fb.

Sure it would be girls suffering the most out of it, they would probably experience in stress what guys experience now.

Does anyone even use Facebook anymore? When I do care enough to check mine, the number of people on chat or posting status updates is dwindling hugely compared to a few years ago. That even includes my resident Facebook attention wh0res who used to let their every thought and movement be known. It's on the way out..

dont use facebook , poeple will read your mind and your life activity from fb , even from simple pictures and comments , it will tell alot about you , and mostly negative

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Damn the lies! I use Facebook to keep in touch with friends from the state I used to live in... Kind of to see what's been going on over there vs here. There's also some cool sites on there, with funny memes and such. Those usually bring about interesting discussions - akin to forums. Don't use it for dating, talking to locals, meeting new people, attention whoring, bragging, etc.

It can still serve a good purpose. All depends on how you use it.

The end of facebook would be a drastic change for bishes...and a good one for dudes

their prime dealer of emotional crack would be gone, chicks would be forced to go to bars and guzzle cvm for the attention they crave..

they already do this for NHL and NBA players but now normal dudes would be getting head in the bathroom stalls in clubs accross america...without facebook chicks would be tetherless and confused, where to post pics of that mediocre maranara sauce she is trying to pass off as edible..ok you're right bishes don't cook...where to post azz shot self pics ...and best of all

NO MORE FISH LIP PICS!!

Yes. I remember reading an article that compared today to American society several decades back. I think it was in the NYT but I'm not sure.

It talked about the enormous increase in psychiatrics, social workers, nurses in nursing homes and etc. etc.

And the article called them "professional carers". Said the role of pyschiatrists and pyschologists was usually fulfilled by either family members or close friends. In today's world we really don't give a sh!t about each other and our fellow man. 99% of our friendships on facebook are nothing more than glorified contact entries.

We pay people to give a sh!t about us and to talk openly to them because there are so few people that actually do.

Women would be so lost without FB. Every single woman I know has a fb account. My grandmother, my mother, my sister, all my aunts. They used to blow up my "feed" with their photos of food and posts about politics. I don't want that sh1t shoved in my face. I know some chick on vacation right now on a beautiful island and all she is doing is taking pictures of herself in bikinis and posting them for people to see. Not only is she wasting time on her vacation by being on FB, but she is posting these absurd photos of herself getting drunk and partying in next to no clothing...like really that's what is attractive to people now?

Sometimes I need to slow down and unwind. I can't do that if everyone has access to my life. I shut off my cell phone for days at a time, rarely check FB, don't even have a twitter, and generally stay away from computers when I'm not at work. A virtual reality is not something I'm very interested in.

Then again, FB is going nowhere. So there is really no reason for this discussion. Women are all AWs to some degree. Hell, most men are as well. You aren't going to score any points with women by being totally out of touch with the virtual world, but you also aren't going to get anywhere by being the dude who updates FB every 10 minutes.

Yeah if facebook went down there would just be another site to take their place. But if you took away social media in general, no doubt it would be devistating to females and beneficial to males.

And people would actually have to *gasp* interact in real life more! The horror!

They do that for NFL, CEO, MLB, SAG, BMW, AMG, CBS, NBC, ABC, BET, MTV, COO, CFO players too!

But, there would still be a smartphone app that women would be into to be away from men. It might be called iHunk, where a woman can interact with a virtual muscular millionaire who wants to get married in a mansion.

I've called it Flakebook and Fakebook.

Would be interesting to see what people would be like without the ability to get the attention they need off of social networking.

Some of the attention craving I see on Facebook (from some guys as well as majority of women) is embarrassing

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
