Ok, it's really hard to explain, but I'll try:

day 1 I train Legs.

day 2, I rest.

day 3, there are 2 possibilities: If I am sore yet, I rest, otherwise I train Chest.

day 4, if I trained on day 3, I rest, otherwise I do what I should have done on day 3

day 5, if I'm not sore, I train Back, otherwise I rest

and so on....

I'll try to make it clearer:

I train every other day if I'm not sore, otherwise I rest for 2 days in a row.
Every time I work out, I train just one body part

What do you think?

Consider that I want to bulk a bit, I'm 65kg more or less and I'd like to get to 70-72 (that is around 15-20 lbs, if i don't mistake)

why would you not train chest if your legs are still sore? Last time i checked you dont need your legs when doing flys or db presses.

that is one of the worst things i have ever heard anyone submit to any board.

why would you rest if your sore you can still work out if your sore. being sore means nothing. and the way your working out your going tobe sore every time...

I think i'd lift about 1 day a week using this method.

Why modify the base 3way split? You've more or less got got a MWF workout. Add shoulders to leg day, triceps to chest day and biceps to back day and you're there - keep the weekend free for your two full days of rest which should make sure your body's ready for the next week.

As for being sore, I agree with the other posters, having sore legs doesn't mean you can't train your chest. What if you do a really hard squat set and feel it in your quads for a few days? Do you just stop working out?

Having said that, exercising a muscle group which is still very sore can be dangerous. If you're lifting and it hurts, stop before you do some serious damage.

Otherwise, I can't see a reason why not to do the basic 3way split. It's more or less what you described anyway.

i read somewhere that if you work out while your body is recovering, the recovering will be longer and less effective, i don't know if it's true or not

i noticed that when i concentrate just on one muscle group per day, i work it out far better. plus, when i let myself rest for longer times, my muscles grow more
