I am seventeen and I want to be someone. Not necessarily famous, but a man with integrity, influence, independence, leadership... etc.
When some of younger cousins ask me what I want to become when I grow up, I answer them confidently with a smirk in their face... "I want to be a good man." They laugh at my answer, as if they were expecting something else. In my opinion, the career does not define the man.
All through my life, I've had everyone tell me that school and university are the end all and be all. however, lately, I have come to the conclusion that this is not what defines life and success. I have seen many people achieve their careers and have a stable job, but they are still unhappy.
I want to succeed. Not necessarily only in a job, but in myself. I want to become a quality man.
All of you out there, men with wisdom, please do enlighten me. Share advice to an aspiring young adult.
