Ok so I was in desperate need for a job, I didn't get all my transcripts turned in for tis semester for college so I wasn't able to register so I took the semester to just work as much as I could to fix my credit..ok enough rambling.
My friend that works for Alltel told me that Alltel was hiring and that his manager (a friend of his) wanted to know if my friend knew anyone that was interested in the sales position. SO one day I go into my boy's job. I talk to him telling him that I desperately need a job because I have bills and what not to pay so he tells me to apply at alltel, he shows me his paychecks and said he made over $40,000 last year, I have 2 years of experience selling phones at a call center so I apply, I receive a call 2 days later setting up a first interview. First interview went OK, but I get no phone calls for a week and ask my boy hat's up. He tells me the guy that was supposed to interview me (his friend that hired him) got fired that day but he asks his store manager to give me a call.
So the GM of the area where I want to work calls me and sets up the interview, so me, the gm, the store manager and a coworker interview me. The interview went great, in fact it went so well that at the end of the interview the GM asks me which store I would prefer working at.
So I'm thinking, this is in thebag, I'm gonna get hired, start making some real money (supplementing by 250-300 per week as a part time server) and I'm good, I can get my cars fixed, get caught up on my bills, fix my credit.
So that interview was Friday September 1st.
I haven't heard from anyone since. My boy texts me every few days asking me if they called me yet, I say no, so I ask him and he tells me that the manager that interviewed me took a better paying position in Colorado and he said he asked his new manager but he wouldn't tell him anything. He also told me that they haven't hired anyone yet even though they are hiring. WTF
So I call damn near every alltel in the east valley asking if I could speak to their manager and what their procedures are in terms of job positions, they all say the same thing, that I should receive a call from them telling me if I'm hired or not, even though it's been 2 weeks. One lady told me that it took 2 weeks before they called her, another guy said they were desperate andhired him on the spot, another lady said if they call you for the second interview then your on the right track and one other person said that if I haven't received a call by now then they probably arent hiring.
So I call the manager that interviewed me in Colorado and he said that he's out of the loop and doesn't know anything about it, I call the GM and leave him a message yesterday and he didn't call me back, I called a manager yesterday, he said he would call me back, no answer.
I don't see why I wouldn't be hired, I have the experience, no criminal record, I have charm, I'm a good looking individual, I can sell, I was confident during the interview, I've never been so sure or so ready for a job interview in my life and yet no call. I think it's very unprofessional that I would do 2 interviews and get no call back, I started (reluctantly) looking for other jobs yesterday holding out hope for alltel. A friend of mine said that if I don't hear from them by Friday then I should leave an ultimatum for the GM on Saturday asking to receive a call by monday to know if I'm hired or not and if I'm not to tell me so I can start looking for other work
WHat do I do? I really need this job because 200-300 a week part time ain't cutting it
