and very ABNORMAL.

I started the CKD diet last Monday weighing 230 lbs. By sunday (yesterday) I was weighing 220.

I didn't do a carb load up because I am planning to stay in ketosis for as long as I can.

Isn't losing this much weight abnormal?

I eat less than 15 grams of carbs a day, and eat only protein and fat.

Here is my workout schedule.

Monday - Run for 20 minutes in the morning. Walk 3 miles home from school.

Tuesday - Upper Body Weight training. walk 3 miles home from school.

Wednesday - Run for 20 minutes. Walk 3 miles.

Thursday - Lower Body Weight Training. Walk 3 miles.

Friday - Run for 20 minutes. Walk 3 miles.

Saturday - Upper body weight training.

Sunday - Run for 20 minutes.

I have started doing this last monday. I know it seems like a sh1tload of excercise but Im pushing myself to do it and I am never fatigued or anything.

My question is, despite the fact that I do so much cardio, is it abnormal to lose 10 lbs in 7 days?

Is my plan too good to be true?

Maybe a lot of your 230 pounds was water weight?

There are alot of factors that add to fluctuation in weight. Like me personally, I fluctuate about 5lbs per day roughly (up or down). Depends on time of weighing ( did you weigh yourself at different times of the day), bloating or water retention ( are you on a reduced sodium diet or not?), if you have more food in you at that time than when last weighed. I'm just trying to tell you not to trust the scale TOO much it can be deceiving.

Just wanted to say way to go! Keep going, don't give up and you'll look like a Mens Health cover boy in a couple of years! ;)
Whenever you hit a plateau, hit the boards hard and figure what's wrong fast, so that you don't get discouraged.

P.S. And i may as well echoe what others have said: most of that was water weight. Average weekly fat loss for someone of your size should be around 3.5 lbs. When you're near your target, it'll slow down to 1.5, if that.

When I first started a low carb diet, I lost 8.5 lbs. in the first week.

And yes, alot of that is water weight because carbs tend to make people retain water.

However, for the next several months, I lost an average of 1.7 lbs. per week, going from 245 to 180 from March 11th 2002 - November 30th 2002

I had a health problem that prevented me from doing much exercise other than walking a few miles per week.

Thankfully, I'm back in the Gym starting last month.

Yes this is true. Most people lose a lot of water weight when they first start a low-carb diet. That should level off after the first 2 weeks.

Also, be prepared to suck up water like a sponge when you resume eating carbs. :)

Aye B...

It's good to hear that you're progressing into the man we knew you could be bro.

Water weight, fat, whatever it is...you're making results and are going forward...just keep it up.
