...but I think GP has a better board in terms of functionality. I like how you can see how many views a particular thread has been seen, who the last poster was, who the active posters are, and detailed poster information all in one screen. Yeah I know it would been changing to a totally different board system and I don't know what the logistics of doing this would be, but can you guys consider changing to the GP board? There are so many features they have that this board lacks.

I agree for the most part. I like the fact that you can see which topics you've posted to at a glance, and the fact that you can automatically go to whichever page you want to view. That board system also has a rating system for being able to rate a post on a scale of (I believe) 1 to 10. The only thing that sucks (about the system itself) is the fact that you can't create an automatic signature... but that's just something that GP.com disabled.

Of course, when it comes to the people who actually post on the forum, and the moderators who take care of things... the DJ board tramples the GP.com board hands down.

The fact that you two have spent enough time there to know this much about their board interface make you both suspect in my opinion.

C'mon man...part of being a Dj is knowing what's better and learning how to do better.

What happened to open mindedness? Personally I always thought this board functionally sucked @ss. I never went to look for alternatives (cause nobody ever listens when you suggest changes here anyway...) but I can see why one might if they thought it would actually matter.

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

You can do that? That is something that I've really wanted to be able to do here. I can easily configure a good newsreader program to do that with Usenet newsgroups, but here I'm at the mercy of the board's software.

In particular I'd love to see, at a glance:

1. Which threads I posted to.

2. Which of those threads got new comments from other posters.

3. Which of those comments where directed to me specifically (easy to see on Usenet via a message tree, but I don't see how it would be possible on the web where the posts are all follow a scrolling format with one above the other).

Currently I find it very time consuming to try to remember which threads I posted to, and to keep checking them to see if someone responded to me.

Usenet is actually more efficient for this, but on the other hand in some ways the approach here is more social. The fact that you see your response and everyone else's together on the same page has an odd subliminal effect of making you feel like you're all in the "same room" as opposed to just reading isolated comments.
