I'm very self-conscious about my looks, especially my weight (i'm 5'10, 155) because let's face it. Most of guys i know are at least 160, and if you're under that average weight, you can't help but feeling small. Feeling small = no confidence = No women.
Can you be skinny & still be confident? I'm not...

how old are ya dude? I'm 26 and 5'11 and 155...extremel;y ripped though.

If u still young you will have to wait for metabolism to slow (I used to be 5'11 at 140...livewith that huh)

You will have to start working out and eating well, doing the right things. Just go read in the the health fitness section, some good stuff there, expecially the stickies.

I can understand that feeling small makes you feel "less", although growing big is not the way to "fix it". It might help, but won't cure it.

I myself have certain other issues which I need to overcome, maybe you are in the same boat?

hate being skinny?

HA! There are many advantages to being skinny,
lower risk of heart attack for one.
I'm small but consider myself average (5'9 135p)
I can do chin ups ( more then one I can do ten easy)
most of my larger friends can hardly do one or two.
I can climb like a ninja, fit in small places,
SPEND LESS ON FOOD,
I'm quicker in a fight,Can run fast....
I am happy to be skinny,
there's no reason to hate it.

no confidence for smaller guys?

Very wrong~
I am capable of dressing sharp keeping clean,
I keep good posture, and I have some deadly DJ skills
and Ideas that put me ahead of most afc's out there.

Confidence is available to everybody, even midgets, talls
whatever.

Listen carefully: If life hands you lemons make lemonade.
so accept being a skinny and work WITH IT
not against it.

Many would kill to be skinny like us;)

Read Diesel's guide to bulking, or buy the skinnyguy.net program.
(theres more discussion about it on the board)

moose, u gotta listen to chaos. Its true, being skinny can work to your advantage. I am 6 feet, 160 pounds (26) and I work out and I'm cut. I used to run from my skinniness but now I embrace it. I used to wair baggy stuff thinking it would fool people so they wouldnt really know how big I am but now I wair tighter stuff. I call it "embracing my skinniness". I look much better when I dress now and feel better too.

I do see other guys bigger than me but it doesnt really phase me cuz I love my body so I take care of it and I dont care what people think of it/me now.

When I am at the gym, I am usually the smallest dude there, but I carry myself well, as a result I guess woman can see that in me cuz I get alot of attention at the gym. I guess woman can see that u arent being pretentious by trying to attract them with the physical.

Ha! You guys have got to be kidding me.

I'm 5'11 1/2", and you know how much I weighed in July? 136 pounds. I've lost weight since then too. As of a month ago I weighed 129 pounds. You want to see skinny? I'M skinny. You all are fat.

I can't run to bulk up because I injured myself two years ago (I ran track/cross country, and my knees and ankles are still messed up). But, I do sit ups and lift weights at home, and I'm starting to feel great. I get a lot of attention from quite a few girls, and I always have (even before I started working out).

whoever the original poster is...155 pounds is chunky. You're pleasantly plump at the least =)

Sorry. To answer your original question, hell yes I'm confident. I have no problem with my weight or people making fun of me for it. On the rare occasion when somebody does tease me about it I either joke along with them or cut them down.

Dude you have nothing on me

im 26 5'7 130pounds :p

I literally weigh as much as a girl but that doesent stop me from laying them. I havent worked out in 10 years and i smoke a pack of cigs a day. I cant even make it up to my 3rd flr apartment without panting. The point is that I dont gain weight or get fat. Just wait until your 35 and all those guys that weight 160 start getting beer guts and **** and your still looking good skinny boy.

I second the notion that you should embrace it. I was 6'4 and about 175 for ten years. In the past year, i'm now about 209 lbs.
However, my point is, look at all the rock stars: SKINNY dudes that EMBRACE IT. Dude, look at Tommy Lee. Yeah, granted he's taller than you, but they wear pants and shirts that are tight fitting. Skinny dudes actually look better in tighter graphic T's than baggy shirts anyways.

You should have watched that MTV True Life dating thing, where David DeAngelo was coaching this skinny nerdy kid. The kid looked better in tighter shirts than he did with his bulky button up shirts. It was an instant fix as far as his dressing was concerned.

I dont think i've ever seen so many 25 year olds weighing closer to 100 pounds in my life.

I know a couple, but they look sickly. I don't know how most of you look but a 30 year old that weighs 120 pounds just is sick looking. Looks like they have aids.

I weigh 210 and I'm trying to bulk up to 235, so I'm not a skinny guy but compared to many people in the gym I go to, I am skinny.

I dont know, either bulk up or start working out. TO me, weighing 120 pounds is just sick looking.

My father was always a skinny guy. He weighed around 155 pounds at most in his entire life.

Then about 8 years back, they found cancer in and on his body and he was in and out of the hospital all the time. He lost lots of weight.

Thankfully he's doing a lot better now, but he weighs around 130 pounds and he really looks sickly.

So when I think of a 30 year old man who is 6 foot tall and wieghs 130 pounds, I'm thinking the dude is sick. I mean many hot chics weight 120-125 pounds.

I used to be lanky too. I was 6'3 165 lbs. I started lifting weights and eating and i got ripped. I went to 220. All i wanted was to be thick and have meat on my bones instead of being lanky.. so after i accomplished that i stopped lifting weights. Now that im in college and dont play ball anymore.. im gaining weight. Now im 6'5 239

Dress half-way respectable, look half way respectable...thats it.

Moose10....it is not terribly difficult to put on some mass...just hit the gym...and get on a clean bulking diet....being bigger gives you more of a presence....and gives you more self-confidence...

It's all about self-image. You need to seperate that from your body image. Fix that internal dialogue.

i hated being 5'10" and 135, so I bulked up to roughly 170 in about 3 years.

The problem with being skinny was that people would consistantly remind you that you are tiny. that kills alot of peoples egos. Now that I am "average", its not as bad.
