hi everybody, i'm relatevely new to bodybuilding, but i'd like to share my experience to hardgainers who doubt that they can get weight on.

i started workin out SERIOUSLY (i mean, having a schedule and everything) at home at the end of february and my weight used to fluctuate around 130 pounds. until april, i used to miss lots of workin out sessions and i used to eat just a bit more than usual, so my weight was almost stable, never over 135 pounds.
i started then to take some supplements sparingly and just whenever i felt it and i ate still a bit more. i got to 138.
i was pretty sick and tired of being so skinny (i've never been DESPERATELY skinny, i always received compliments on my body, even at 130 lbs) and i thought to quit, since i was a hardgainer.

then 3 days ago i started to take Next Ultra Bars, which are so composed:

prots: 28,40
carbs: 42,56
fas: 8
creatine: 3
glutamnine: 1

in the last 3 days, i've been taking one a day. plus, i've been eating BIG... yesterday, i almost couldn't manage to sleep, since my tummy was full of stuff:)

i gained 7 lbs in 3 days, guys! and i did a lot of cardio, since i've been playing basketball with 30° celsius degrees outside and with the same temperature i've been riding my bike everyday to my girlfriend who lives 10 miles away and having a cycle ride with her up and down the hills for like 3 or 4 hours a day. i guess that if i hadn't done cardio, i would have gained at least 12 lbs.

sh1t, i'm happy as hell, i hope to get on another 2 lbs today...

uh, i forgot, my body fat percentage has never gone above 10% during this time!

Hey man, that's great to hear. I don't want to be a joykill but since you've started eating more your body probably has stored alot of glykogen+water, and creatine stores water too, plus you've eaten more which means you have more food in your body. Don't get discouraged if you don't gain as fast now. Keep up eating big and lifting bigger.

Yeah lifeforce is right man... i know thats sort of a buzz kill but the best idea is to get yourself a good long term training plan and diet plan setup so you can make real results.

thanks for your replies, guys! i know that it won't always be that easy, but i'm thrilled anyway:) i just finished to eat my dinner and, as soon as i'm hungry again, i will store my tummy with all kinds of sh1t, before going to bed:)

Jay,

I think you are well on track, consistency is the key.

I found having a little graph of my weight plotted weekly a really good way to keep motivated.

I think what everyone is saying is right, it's best to know up front so you won't be disapointed, glyco, water, food will give you lots of weight initially, be very happy if you can do 2lbs a week and stay fairly lean.

At some point that too will be pushing it.

Think of it like the dieter in reverse. The number of fatty friends I have who go on diets, they say to me, hey I've been on this diet and I've lost 7lbs in a week. I say thats great, come back in 6months and tell me what you weigh.

Keep eating, keep counting cals, train intelligently (read quality not quantity) and you will be well on the way.
