I have been spent the past year hanging out and speaking with a girl from work. We used to see each other on the odd weekend, and then eventually most weekends. She suggested meeting during the week also. I started to feel it was getting too much. I had it in my mind that I like hanging out with her, but maybe she is not the one. So I spoke with her one night and mentioned that I only saw her as a friend. She was quite sad, and I felt bad for it.
The next day I woke up and literally all day could not stop thinking about her. It was the only thing I could think about, so in the evening I called her, and explained that what I said yesterday was not actually true. I do genuinely like her alot, and I think it wasn't what I actually wanted to get off my chest, most likely to get a bit of space. She said she felt very cautious by my words.
She messaged me before I went away for the weekend and said how she fancies me way too much, but she is a great girl and deserve to be treated by someone who actually likes me. She wants to feel wanted. She says it's getting complicated because we want different things. SHe feels like she is not getting the attention and security she would like.
Should I pursue it or accept that I've f*cked up and move on?
