I feel so stupid and oblivious

Today was another example of how clueless and oblivious I am to a girl’s signals. So every year for the past 6 years I’ve done a seasonal summer job in an exhibit at the county fair that lasts for about a month and a half. And there’s a girl that I work with who I used to be into a couple years ago back during the 2017 work season, but I never asked her out because she’s very shy and introverted and I couldn’t tell which way it would go if I asked her out, but I did attempt to text her and I failed miserably, so I gave up on her after that.

Well I thought I was completely over her, but some of that interest has come back now and today at work, I was sweeping the floors of the exhibit and like 3 or 4 times she called me over as I was sweeping to tell me that she was bored. I didn’t think much of it and after the first time I invited her to sweep with me, but she gave up on it pretty quick. Well eventually, she went over with another guy who was a new hire this year and had his first day today and started playing Mario Kart with him because we have that in our exhibit. She stayed over with him for awhile I think and she admitted to another girl that we work with that she thinks he’s cute. Only after that happened did I realize that her telling me that she was bored that many times was probably her hinting that she wanted me to stay around and talk to her and hang out with her, but instead I was an oblivious idiot who totally missed her signals and that pushed her towards another guy instead. At least I know for next time.

Hey Superstorm, a girls true interest level is only known once you make moves, take action. Need to ask her out, preferably in person since that's bolder than texting. Ask her out and you'll find out if she is interested.

This sounds like some high school stuff...yeah women will give you signals or hints and they judge a guy on how keen he is at being able to pick up on those.

Ha, this sounds like me when I was in my 20s. I was pretty much completely oblivious to signals. Come to think of it, I'm probably still oblivious. Not as bad as I was then, but still a bit.
